New cards and abilities!
Bringing New Life to the Game
The new rewards cards and abilities are really bringing some new life to Splinterlands. It feels a bit like when Chaos Legion was released and there was a lot of learning to do. I've been fortunate enough to pick up two of the new summoners and a handful of the cards, but I am still getting a handle on how best to play with and against the new strategies.
A Great Example

Tarsa v. Astral |
Typically, I like to break down my card choices and reasoning, but for this battle I think it is much more interesting to dig deeper into my opponent's cards as they offer a good insight into the new cards.
Okay, so technically Astral Entity is a Chaos card, but as the most recent airdrop card I'm still considering it a new card and am still surprised to see it on the battlefield.
Whew, That's A Lot to Unpack
While there is quite a bit to unpack here my favorite part of this battle was seeing my opponent's Riftwing gain a magic attack. Don't get me wrong, it sucked having that come at me, but it was still cool to see 😀 As more of us start adding Weapons Training to our collection it is going to be so much fun to see the combinations that players are able to deploy. At the end of the day, aside from having to take Runi out three times, this battle leaned heavy in my favor. My opponent seemed to go for all the new flash, but with the Unprotected ruleset my opponent failed to properly synergize the new abilities and cards to the actual battle. I was able to overcome this time around, but as players start to learn how best to synergize the new cards and abilities with the existing collection, it is going to open up many new strategies that are going to have to be considered. Adding this to a potential battle with three rulesets and it is making the game more challenging, but also more fun in my eyes.
