Splinterlands Updated: Let's see what has changed

Hello Splinterlands Fam,

Splinterlands made an update yesterday, a significant one. There is a long list of changes and I'll try to cover most important ones.

Let's go over the changes:

The ranked battles have been updated so that the player will now still be able to submit a team and get credit towards daily quests even if their opponent surrenders.

This is important, I think it started to be in effect before that cause I saw it in action. That's a very good improvement!

PLAYER NAME HIDDEN

To help prevent win trading, we plan on changing the information displayed on the “Enemy Found” screen.

“Enemy found” will be changed to “Match begins”

The opponent’s name will no longer be displayed in ranked battles.

The Recently Played teams displaying the last 5 battles on the ‘Enemy Found’ screen when entering into battle will no longer display surrendered matches for opponents. Please note that the last 5 battles will be reset with this update and only start populating with battles that have occurred following this change.

Well, we will see what does that change will bring, I don't think it will affect low/mid league players, even not the players that are just playing. Win trading thing is a complex, weird stuff if parctised by anyone out there. The witch hunt on Japanese players are concluded and they are proved to be not doing that. I also think that @ueyuey @schnapoon and others accused are not win-trading or botting but they are using tools like Splintertools, lots of notes and excel databases and they play too much just to nearly know any outcome before. They are professionals and they use all legitimate things they can do to win. Improve yourself and dedicate that much time and energy to the game, instead of doing jealousy-driven moves. 😉

Also, about the bot thing: there may be private bots out there people use to analyze the playing patterns of the players and combine it with the mostly used basic bot thing that which teams have the highest win rate on that specific ruleset etc. So now, if you don't know about your rivals past, those private bots won't be of use.

Also, the mobile version of the game is so outdated, it needs a moderate facelift and fix. I read from twitter that some users have not even the 5 match history, what they had to face is a black emptiness 😅

Also, I think it would be wonderful if you win a match and then you relise that it was a Titan :)

Incase you are curious, I won my first match after the changes 😁

POP-UP MAYHEM

We have implemented changes that will reduce the number of repeated notifications appearing on the user’s screen after subsequent logins.

Users will no longer get pop-up notifications in ranked battles of duplicate battle processing attempts.

Users will now be able to acknowledge all received gifts with a single click, instead of having to scroll through all the gifted cards.

I think that was one of the most annoying thing happens in the game. You just want to take a screenshot of something, or open the game and pop pop pop lot's of stuff, gifts, etc. Hope it shows one time and one time only!

CARD SELECTION

We have reviewed the way that the system selects the cards that are used for battle. If a user has multiple cards of the same level in one account (owned, rented, or through delegation), the system will select cards used for battle in the following order:

  • Cards will be selected by level, if the levels are tied Gold foil cards will be selected.
  • If the level and the Gold foil cards are tied, cards not owned by the user (rented or delegated cards) will be selected.
  • If the level, Gold foil cards, and ownership are tied, the most recently used cards will be selected.
  • Lastly, should the most recently used cards be tied, the card ID will be used to select the card used in battle.

Ok, that's good news but what about reverse speed games, what about cards that you want the lesser stats. I'm already confused on reverse speed games, no strategy of mine come-out to be correct 😂

TOURNAMENT FILTERS

We have made improvements to the current Tournaments Page Filters. Users will now be able to navigate between the main “Tournament View” page and the individual tournament view pages without losing their filter settings.

Yeah, that was annoying and made people leave that page because they are bored! 🤣 I tried it and it works, now you'll see the charm working in no time 😉 But still, we need a facelift, some changes on that page! There should be a count-down here:

And also, I know they are cute but change of those characters maybe with new moderns, maybe a rotation of characters?

API PROBLEMS AND PEAKMONSTERS

We have resolved the following API issues:

  • PeakMonsters reported that the active_rentals API call is slow, we improved the performance in order to resolve this issue.
  • PeakMonsters reported that the 'market / for_sale_by_card' API would not display cards with less than 5% market fees in some cases.
  • Add limit and offset to /market/rental_history. The rental history API now limits the size of data returned, and accepts limit and offset arguments.

I don't know what has been fixed but this still happens on @peakmonsters where you want to rent the best CP/DEC card on the rent market and it's not there anymore. Yet you refresh the page and it still sits on top of the rental offers. Fix this first please 🙏
