INTRO

Welcome Guys to a new Splinterlands post from me, I hope Yall Have been Enjoying yourself with the Entrance into the New Year.

Things have already begun to Pick up, after all, No one wants to Spend Too much time Dwadling, especially in a Fast Paced Environment like Blockchain. Looking at the Hive.Blog Page, Nothing seems to have changed too much, and Activity is Booming too.

For this Post, I'm just gonna share with you guys my Process of Making a Restock of Card Units in Splinterlands.

A New Season, Time to Restock

It's a new year and one of the benefits it brings is a rekindled and Entusisatic Drive to make big changes that can push us forward. And I'm gonna be channeling some of that spirit into my Splinterlands Gamings.

The truth is that I've been a bit frustrated coming in from my previous gaming, and this is because I think Splinterlands has gotten quite Tough - It's Crazy. As a Gamer, I love Challenging Gameplay that makes me Lose and Laugh at my Stupidity or Lack of Swiftness. But, I also dislike to Lose Repeatedly even When I'm Putting in my Best Efforts.

Right now, it's quite difficult Coming out of Bronze League 3, not to Talk of Attaining the Silver League which is Something I would Like to Achieve. I Played a few matches recently, and I was amazed at how Individual Cards' effort could Surpass a Strong Team Effort in Splinterlands.

What exactly do I mean?

Well, I was playing this Death Vs Water (Enemy) Battle, and in the last few rounds, even though Djinn Oshannaus was the Only Monster in the Enemy's Lineup, He Still Destroyed All my Monsters one at a time. I thought I had the Battle Covered but No, One Powerful Monster is all that is needed.

So I decided to Take a Look at the Marketplace and See what I could get my hands on, for this, I just wanted some really cheap Monsters that were also strong, Even On par with their Expensive Mates, and I thought what better way to do this than to target Monsters from the Reward Card Edition.

Reward Card Editions are Really Cheap

Reward Card Editions contain Cards that are continuously printed and distributed through Loot chests by competing in the Ranked Mode. This is the Only available means of Collecting Reward Cards, And of course, Purchasing them from the Marketplace. This means that, unlike the other Card Editions which are released with a specified amount and Purchased directly from Splinterlands for a Set Price in SPS/Dec, Reward Cards are Circulated by Players.

The More People Play Splinterlands, and Win Loot Chests, the More Cards are Printed and In turn the Increased in Supply.

This is exactly what makes reward Cards so Cheap - But Don't let that Fool you, The Price doesn't Testify to their Strenght at all. Both Djinn Oshannaus and Djinn Chwala (Top Popular Water and Dragon Cards) come from the Reward Card Edition.

What Defines a Splinterlands Monster Cost

Some of my best Splinterlands Cards have come from the Untamed Card Edition without a doubt, I used to love these Cards because even though they aren't the most powerful, they have a certain uniqueness to them that I can only term as (Rash Ruggedness), For Example, if I'd to Collectively Describe Chaos of Legion Theme - I will say the most Beautiful and Diverse Edition.

But Untamed Cards are very Expensive, Which does not even Begin to Reflect their worth. Looking extensively through the Marketplace, You can find that many Untamed Cards with Low Health and Attack Stats are still Very Expensive and Clearly in a Typical Battle, a Cheaper but Much Stronger Opponent would Destroy them.

I think this is where the Value of NFTs comes in, taking a look at the reason behind this - I Discovered that the Smaller the Card Edition Collection, the Higher the Price of Individual Monsters, since there is a lower amount of players holding them.

For Example:

SO, Most times - Price doesn't always reflect the strength of Monsters, but it does reflect their uniqueness!.

What are my targets

My Targets are simply to go for Reward Cards that Cheap but Strong when rated along with their Counterparts. Like I said above, just a Powerful Individual in a Battle Lineup could be the Sole Reason to Flip the Battle around and Bring Victory (Djinn Oshannaus is One Such Card & Regal Peryton is Another).

I will start with the Elements I Like Best and Try to Upgrade my Collection that Way. If I don't see a Monster that is Equal with an Opposing Card Edition, I will just Skip this and Re-access this Later.

Luckily, I found this Super Helpful Website with Detailed Stats on ALL Reward Cards that have been Released Up till now, It Also Provides stats on their Average Price, Mint Info, and Rarity.

With this, I can not only plan out which cards are most Likely to decrease in price in the nearest future But also get the best Deals for Dec Tokens.

Death_Divider.png

I'll start with Death:

I Love the Death Team, they give me the vibes of Silent but Deadly xd, and Currently, the Chaos of Legion Base set of Cards Does not Offer Team Death an Advantage in Battle, so It'll be Best for me to Level up a Strong Team for Death.

For Tank Position: HARKLAW

Death_Tank.png

Comments: This is a Strong Tank, that can withstand a lot of Melee and Magic attacks. I chose him over Undead Rexx because of the lesser mana cost!.

line.png

For Crafty Monster: VENARI BONESMITH

Crafty_Position.png

Comments: This is a Monster that will come in handy for gaining an advantage over the Enemy. His Life Leech Ability, when positioned well can cause a lot of problems!

line.png

For Snipe Attacker: GRIM REAPER

Snipe_Position.png

Comments: I'm just discovering this monster for the first time, but it looks really attractive. The Snipe Attack is a chunky +3, aside the fact that it's Affliction Ability will end up causing extra damage.

Earth_Divider.png

Next, will be Earth:

I really like the Earth team, it has powerful monsters that cannot go unnoticed even though I end up Purchasing some Additional Reward Cards.
The Earth team is Filled with High-Rate Individual Monster Cards such as (Unicorn Mustang, Regal Peryton, and Goblin Psychic). My aim is to Complement my New Reward Cards with the Base set of Cards switching them up, and Confusing Opponents.

For Crafty Position: DJINN BILJKA

Crafty_Position2.png

Comments: I figured that the Earth Element already has some solid Tanks so that is not my focus, Instead to take advantage of Summorner Obsidian +1 Magic Perk, I'll be getting Cheap Mana Magic Attackers. This Monster is probably the most crafty I've set my eyes on in Earth!

line.png

For MagicTank Position: CENTAURI MAGE

MagicTank_Position.png

Comments: This is a Flexible Monster that can be Used for Both Tank and Rear Position because of It's High Health. In Cases where Melee Tank is Unnecessary, this will be my Best Pick But to Utilise It's Return Fire Ability, I could keep it in the Rear Position where Ranged Attackers are Most Likely to Target.

line.png

For Snipe/Supporting Attacker: VAMPIRIC BLOSSOM

Supporting_Position.png

Comments: This Monster is not Necessarily the Best, but still I chose it Over Vernari Seedsmith whose Scavenger Ability is to Slow to Guarantee an Increase in Health. This Monster has Cheap Price with Average Mana Cost, so it could be Used in Supporting Roles.

Water_Divider.png

Last, has got to be Water:

Water is a Special Splinter that is Deadly to even the Best teams but also Tough to Control, let alone Master.
My Plan will be to Fill up my Water team with Magic Attackers that have good Speed and Take Advantage of the Free Water Summoner that is available (Kelya Frendul), which will further make my Lineup very Fast and Always attack first.

For Tank Position: DJINN OSHANNUS

Tank_Position.png

Comments: I'm getting this Big Guy without a Doubt, Two can Play at that Game!. Djinn Oshannus is Just So Powerful, and packs a punch for just One Monster.!

line.png

For Reach Position: WAVE RUNNER

Reach_Position.png

Comments: This seems like a good bet of a Monster even if not a Magic Attacker. It has a well-balanced stat and reasonable health that if protected can make wave Runner Deal a Lot of Damage. It also has very good speed, which aligns well with my Plans!.

line.png

For Supporting Role: VENARI WAVESMITH

Supporting_Position2.png

Comments: This is a Magic Attacker with just +1 Attack but its Special Ability Protect is what I'm interested in. It can Protect itself along with Other Monsters in the Lineup, fortifying the Attack. I'm picking this Over Captain's Ghost.
