The changes in Splinterlands keep coming and one of the most recent that was announced a few days ago, is that the rental of cards now has a minimum price of 1 DEC, remembering that before the minimum price you could place was 0.1 DEC, which is currently very little, in fact, in my opinion 1 DEC is still little, however, some good changes are coming later and perhaps sooner rather than later that will make this a good update, although in itself it already is.
This change in DEC pricing is due to a proposal submitted months ago by @captaindingus in June 2024 and approved around the same month of course, but, that change is being reflected in the game recently, so, what I want to express in this post is precisely this change, its implications and what follows after this, which could affect the rewards of players who get tokens passively for renting their cards.
So, stay until the end of this post to find out what will happen with the rents and how it will affect the game.
Is the rent increase to 1 DEC a good thing and what implications could this bring?
In my opinion the change is good, in part, of course, I have my own opinion about it, however, placing a minimum price for rentals is a step in the right direction to recover the value and volatility in the "Rental" market in Splinterlands, since, the reality is that the actions in a "Play To Earn" game, must be remunerated and one of those actions is certainly the rental of cards.
Of course, the formats in the game (Wild and Modern), change what would be the demand for the cards, especially since in the "Wild Format" to play you pay a battle pass, and additional the rewards in SPS are substantially different, being the "Modern Format" the favorite to choose, for example, in my case the price change and the increase in rentals comes in handy, but, the 1 DEC is not enough, I would have raised it to a minimum of 5 DEC per rental, this could have made more profitable the rental of cards that belong to the "Wild Format" and clearly for now, the attention is not on these SETS of cards.
But what should happen to make this change even more positive?

What's next?
Just now we have a "Draft Proposal" that may change things for rentals; and in my opinion this is really positive, since the proposal what it intends to do is to stop rentals from being daily, to become only for full "Seasons", and it is doing "Pre-Approved" by a pretty wide margin, which tells me that the community is in agreement with this change, but what would it really imply that this would happen?
Implications if this change is implemented
Basically if this change is implemented, it would mean that the price of rentals for each card would be multiplied 15 times, since, a season lasts 15 days, that means that, if the minimum price of a rental is 1 DEC and this proposal is approved, the cards of minimum price of 1 DEC per day, would become worth 15 DEC in total, which in my opinion would be quite positive for the ecosystem and for those who rent complete sets and additional seek a passive income through this way.
As the payment will be mandatory for 15 days, players who rent the cheapest cards for 1 DEC per day will get the above mentioned, but, we know that there are more valuable cards, so, many of them will exceed the minimum insurance price, which will exponentially increase the rental income in the game, not to mention that we are all really looking to rent higher level cards as there are no restrictions per league.
Conclusion
While this is a "Draft Proposal", it is quite feasible that when it is a real proposal it will be approved, especially for the reason I have commented above, if this happens, I would be alternating between renting my collection for a whole season and in the next season playing the whole season, it would be great to do those tests and see the income in the month doing both.

Los cambios en Splinterlands siguen llegando y uno de ,os mas recientes que fue anunciado hace algunos días, es que el alquiler de las cartas ahora tiene un precio mínimo de 1 DEC, recodando que antes el precio mínimo que podrías colocar era de 0.1 DEC, lo que actualmente es muy poco, de hecho, en mi opinión 1 DEC sigue siendo poco, sin embargo, se vienen algunos buenos cambios más adelante y quizás más temprano que tarde que hare que esta sea una buena actualización, aunque en si misma ya lo es.

¿El aumento del alquiler a 1 DEC es bueno y que implicaciones podría traer esto?
En mi opinión el cambio es bueno, en parte, por supuesto, tenga mi propia opinión al respecto, sin embargo, el colocar un precio mínimo para los alquileres es un paso en el camino correcto para ir recuperando el valor y la volatilidad en el mercado de “Alquiler” en Splinterlands, ya que, la realidad es que las acciones en un juego “Play To Earn”, deben de ser remuneradas y una de esas acciones es sin duda la del alquiler de cartas.
Por supuesto, los formatos en el juego (Salvaje y Moderno), cambian lo que seria la demanda de las cartas, especialmente porque en el “Formato Salvaje” para jugar se paga un pase de batalla, y adicional las recompensas en SPS son sustancialmente diferentes, siendo el “Formato Moderno” el favorito para elegir, por ejemplo, en mi caso el cambio de precio y el aumento de alquileres viene bien, pero, el que sea 1 DEC no es suficiente, yo lo hubiera subido a un mínimo de 5 DEC por alquiler, esto podría haber hecho mas rentable el alquiler de cartas que pertenecen al “Formato Salvaje” y claramente por ahora, la atención no esta en estos SETS de cartas.
Pero ¿Que debería pasar para que este cambio sea aun mas positivo?

¿Qué es lo que sigue?
Justo ahora tenemos un “Proyecto de Propuesta” que puede cambiar las cosas para los alquileres; y en mi opinión esto es realmente positivo, ya que la propuesta lo que pretende hacer es que los alquileres dejen de ser diarios, para pasar hacer solo por “Temporadas” completas, y está haciendo “Preaprobada” por un margen bastante amplio, lo que me dice que la comunidad está de acuerdo con este cambio, pero ¿que realmente implicaría que esto sucediera?
Implicaciones si este cambio se aplica
Básicamente si este cambio se aplica, significaría que el precio de los alquileres por cada carta se multiplicaría 15 veces, ya que, una temporada dura 15 días, eso quiere decir que, si el precio mínimo de un alquiler es de 1 DEC y esta propuesta se aprueba, las cartas de precio mínimo de 1 DEC por día, pasaran a valer 15 DEC en total, lo que en mi opinión seria bastante positivo para el ecosistema y para aquellos que alquilan conjuntos completos y adicional buscan un ingreso pasivo por medio de esta vía.
Como el pago será obligatorio por 15 días, los jugadores que alquilen las cartas más económicas por 1 DEC por día obtendrán lo anteriormente comentado, pero, sabemos que hay cartas más valiosas, por lo que, muchas de ellas superaran el precio mínimo de seguro, lo que aumentara de forma exponencial los ingresos por alquileres en el juego, sin mencionar que todos realmente buscamos alquilar cartas de mayor nivel ya que no hay restricciones por liga.
Conclusión
Si bien este es un “Proyecto de Propuesta”, es bastante factible de que cuando sea una propuesta real se apruebe, especialmente por la razón que he comentado anteriormente, si esto pasa, estaría alternando entre alquilar mi colección por toda una temporada y en la siguiente jugar toda la temporada, seria genial hacer esas pruebas y ver los ingresos en el mes realizando ambas cosas.
