This is another game rule which brings some variety and fun while forcing players to have a wide collection of cards. My go-to strategy most of the time is to play the Earth Obsidian Summoners with a lot of Magic monsters. The main downside is that this easily can be countered if the opponent has the right cards.
This is pretty much the team I always choose with this game rule if it's allowed. The Xenith Monk is an ok tank since it is capable to stay alive with some good health and self-heal. The Failed Summoner also has good heal and provides a counter to magic damage. In 3rd spot, the Spirited Shaman has also good survivability with the divine shield ability. The Wood Nymph provides some nice heal while the Queen Mycelia (which I still have to get to Level 2 for the much-needed extra ability to give double reflect on the Failed Summoner. In last place I'm not sure if it's best to play another Magic monster or to include 1 Ranged attack monster.
My opponent pretty much played the same strategy but I assume had fewer cards available to choose from and only a level 2 Summoner instead of my Level 3 which gave me the advantage and easy win.
