Don't have an Alt Account? You should.
Taking risks and experimentation should be a part of Splinterlands, but often they are not taken because of the desire to be competitive in tournaments and guild brawl obligations. Main accounts are for playing it safe and playing at the level a player is most comfortable. Enter the Alt Account. Alt Accounts enable Splinterlands participants to do crazy things and farm rewards in a way that is unconventional.
Get More Epic and Rare Rewards Cards
The percentage odds of getting a Rare or Epic card in a loot chest did not change with the new Rewards format. This means that MORE chests at a lower level can be better than LESS chests at a higher level.
If the loot chest has a card in it (this depends upon league level of the chest), the odds of the card being an Epic card is 4% and the odds of the card designated as a Rare is 20%.
This means with more loot chests, there is a better chance of getting more of those cards.
Let's compare Bronze rewards vs. Silver rewards.
12 Silver Chests (a Silver I player can expect between 12-16 chests per day) as compared to 24 Bronze Chests (a Silver I player can realistically get up to 27 on a good day).
Breaking down Rare vs. Epic returns:
In Bronze, this would mean 8 cards earned.
In Silver, this would mean 4-5 cards earned, let's go with 5 because it rounds up.
Bronze Rares: 1.6 cards on average
Silver Rares: 1 card on average
Bronze Epics: .32 cards on average
Silver Epics: .2 cards on average
The benefit of earning in one's bracket level is not as high when it comes to earning Rare and Epic cards.
The major differences between Silver and Bronze rewards is the enhanced ability to find a pack, get a Gold Foil card, get a Legendary card, and double the DEC rewards in Silver. However, since it is more likely that one would receive Epic and Rare cards, it is absolutely worth it to have an Alt Account earning Bronze rewards.
Play Out of Your Depth and Ignore End of Season Rewards
Use your Alt Account to surge up the levels and manipulate your standing to earn a lot of the rewards you want from a particular level for a given day.
Want a bunch of Silver or Gold chests? Start your daily focus in Silver or Gold from a Collection Power perspective while having enough of a player rating to qualify for Diamond and then rent up or have someone or yourself delegate cards to that account to put it into Diamond level. Play and earn Gold chests at an accelerated rate. Rinse and repeat. Manipulate the timing and delegations to your liking and this could be a great way to farm more Rewards cards.
A win in a higher level goes a long way. Not everyone wants to receive the rewards of their given level. Many would be content to get more of the lesser rewards and an Alt Account is the way to get there.
What about End of Season Rewards?
With this strategy, it is a bonus rather than an objective to meet. Daily Rewards are the true prize. Getting over 20 loot chests a day will help an Alt Account owner forget about passing up the opportunity at 70-90 chests at the End of the Season in their own level like they would in their Main Account.
What to do with your Alt Account's earnings?
Transfer it over to your Main Account so that it is more competitive. After accruing enough assets, the Main Account can feed into Alt Accounts to reduce the need for rentals.
Use the proceeds from the cards and how you use it to do what you want in the Hive Engine marketplace or within Splinterlands.
