Even Stevens: Collection is an uneven advantage

Hello folks, and welcome to another Splinterlands ruleset guide. This week we are going to be looking at the ruleset "Even Stevens", which is a ruleset that only allows for cards of an even mana cost. The main advantage/disadvantage of this rulset is that if you went for a high level but low variety collection in these moments you are left without options. However, even since the time I was playing actually winning at SPL tends to require more variety than leveling on average due to the plethora of rulesets that limit your playpool (like this rulset for example). There are not any particular cards that are overtly good in this mode, what is good is to have the variety of cards you need for the rulesets that may be tacked on in tandem with this one.

Strategy and Placement: The Usual, but No Odds

In the "Evens" ruleset you can essentially place your creatures as you normally would based on the other ones present. In this case the alternate rulesets are poision and no melee, to combat this I used a classic Llama Cornealus strategy to outlast the opponent with superior health while cleansing cornealus to not be effected by the poison. The giant eyeball is quite durable even without being able to attack (it should be noted that in a mirror if the opponent had a magical healing creature in front they would win with Scarred Llama mage as their summoner). Overall a decisive victory, especially due to the opponent's lack of sustain. I had less options for victory due to the combination of rulesets, but because I had a variety of cards instead of a leveled collection the odds were tipped in my favor.

Giveaway and Talking Tidbits

This ruleset isn't a very flashy one, but it can be one of the hardest to deal with especially if you have a limited collection. Especially if there are other rulesets that limit your pool alongside it as shown above. I have been actually taking a break from SPL for a week or so to recalibrate my wild MMR so I can actually get a season of bronze chests. The SPS is pretty meaningless in that league (Again, just handing bots roughly 50 percent of the SPS pool meant to reward human play time and create perceived value for the token), but the cards obtained are certainly worthy for expanding my collection for playing. But you folks all know my position at this point, just because I'm still playing doesn't mean you don't have to go for the life rafts. La principal ventaja/desventaja de este rulset es que si optas por una colección de alto nivel pero poca variedad en estos momentos te quedas sin opciones. Sin embargo, incluso desde la época en que jugaba, ganar en SPL tiende a requerir más variedad que subir de nivel en promedio debido a la gran cantidad de conjuntos de reglas que limitan tu grupo de juego (como este conjunto de reglas, por ejemplo). No hay ninguna carta en particular que sea abiertamente buena en este modo, lo que es bueno es tener la variedad de cartas que necesitas para los conjuntos de reglas que se pueden agregar junto con este.

Estrategia y ubicación: lo habitual, pero sin probabilidades

En el conjunto de reglas "Evens", básicamente puedes colocar tus criaturas como lo harías normalmente en función de las demás presentes. En este caso los conjuntos de reglas alternativos son veneno y no cuerpo a cuerpo, para combatir esto utilicé una estrategia clásica de Llama Cornealus para sobrevivir al oponente con una salud superior mientras limpiaba a cornealus para no ser afectado por el veneno. El globo ocular gigante es bastante duradero incluso sin poder atacar (cabe señalar que en un espejo, si el oponente tuviera una criatura mágica curativa al frente, ganaría con el mago Scarred Llama como su invocador). En general, una victoria decisiva, sobre todo por la falta de solidez del rival. Tenía menos opciones de victoria debido a la combinación de reglas, pero como tenía una variedad de cartas en lugar de una colección nivelada, las probabilidades estaban a mi favor.

Sorteo y cositas que hablan

Este conjunto de reglas no es muy llamativo, pero puede ser uno de los más difíciles de manejar si tienes una colección limitada. Especialmente si hay otros conjuntos de reglas que limitan su grupo junto con él, como se muestra arriba. De hecho, me he estado tomando un descanso de SPL durante aproximadamente una semana para recalibrar mi MMR salvaje y poder obtener una temporada de cofres de bronce. El SPS no tiene mucho sentido en esa liga (nuevamente, simplemente entregar a los bots aproximadamente el 50 por ciento del grupo de SPS tiene como objetivo recompensar el tiempo de juego humano y crear un valor percibido para el token), pero las cartas obtenidas son ciertamente dignas de ampliar mi colección para jugar.
