It seems like forever ago when Splinterlands announced it was selling land. I think it has almost been two years ago when they sold all the land claims (token) and the only place you could get them over the time since they sold out was on Hive Engine.
I was one of the ones that bought a plot back when the prices were very high. And at that time, no one knew any of the functionality of land.
But things have now changed. Land is Ready for Claiming.
Land Still Available
Don't fear, if you have not gotten a plot of land you can still get yours.
It may look like there are none for sale, if you look under the Land Sales tab in the MarketPlace.
But here is a trick. Go to "Other Items"
Land Plot Claim - $144.99
Land Tract Claim (100 Plots) - $17,000
Land Region Claim (1,000 Plots) - $250,000
There are only a total of 150,000 land plots available so now may be the time to get yours and then select your location on the map.
The good news is you do not need to own any crypto to get your Splinterlands Land. You can pay with a credit card via Paypal, etc to get in-game credits then use those to buy Land.
There are also so many different Crypto that can be used to purchase in-game credits so you can purchase your piece of Splinterlands Land.
After claiming is complete, the next step is surveying your land to see what type and rarity it may be.
Claiming Land
After you have purchased your land, then you can claim it. Below is the next available Region, Tract and Plot. The land is claimed in region order from 1 to 150 so there are still lots left to claim if you have your claim token. The next available to claim is reflected in the bottom right side of the screen.
There are a total of 150 Regions in which to claim a plot. There is speculation as to the region colors relating to the seven elements (Life, Earth, Neutral, Dragon, Water, Fire and Death). However I do not know if this has been officially announced. So you guess is as good as mine.
To claim, go to the Items menu and click Land.
The number of Plots, Tracts and Region you own will show on the left hand side. Click "Claim Deeds" to begin the process once the available is in the area you are wanting to claim in.
If you have more than one and want them together, make sure you claim them all at the same time. If however you want to spread your land in various locations across the regions claim them separately.
I wanted to have all three of my plots located next to each other so I claimed them all at the same time.
The area that was available when I claimed was in Region 40. I wanted to see if I could get a lake or river plot and that region seemed a very good one to get that type. However I will not know what type I received until surveying is available in the near future.
I now have three plots next to each other in the Rutherford, Broken Land Region. I can't wait until I can survey the land to see the next steps I can take.
