Molten Ash Golem
The Molten Ash Golem is a very strong anchor to a line up due to it's large health. At level 2, it has 10 health so should be able to last several attacks from any Sneak cards my opponents may use.
Even though it is light on attack with only 1 range and slow with only 1 speed, there are certain rule sets where the slow speed comes in very handy like Reverse Speed rule set. However I would like this card better if it had some armor.
Match Rule Set
Mana Cap: 46
Rule Set: Stampede and Reverse Speed
Splinter: Fire, Life or Water available - selected Fire
Strategy
With the Reverse Speed rule set, I most always use the Fire Splinter since it has a large number of strong cards with a speed of 1. Living Lave with the Shield ability and slow speed is perfect for this rule set
Also, with a Mana cap of 46, I am assuming that my opponent will be using some cards with the Melee attack thus I added in third position a card with the ability to reduce my opponents melee attack by 1.
I add next to my line up a Sneak and a Snipe this way I am working on both ends of their back line at the same time. Others have said to always use all Sneak or all Snipe but not both in your line ups but there are times when it is ok to use one of each. I was hoping this was one of those times.
I end my line up with the Molten Ash Golem due to the large health of 10. This should let it take several rounds of attack before being killed off which will allow my sneak and snipe to pick off their back line.
Battle Progress
These two line ups were a good match for each other. I was finally able to kill off my opponents tank in the second round. I also killed off their card with the repair ability. However this card's ability would only help my opponents tank so my strategy of selecting a sneak and a snipe in my line up was not as effective as I would have hoped. If I would have added two snipes, I may have been able to kill off their card with the heal ability sooner but that is water under the bridge.
During the 3rd round, they were able to kill my tank and I only wounded their line a little bit.
In the 4th and 5th round, my opponent took out my Molten Ash Golem. So it did a very good job of taking the hits for the rest of my back line. During these two rounds, I was able to kill off all by one of my opponents cards so but the start of round 6 I knew I had won the match.

Results
My strategy worked wonderfully which I will continue to use. However since the changes to the rewards were put in place, I was penalized 17% for using two level 1 common card in my lineup. I had started paying more attention to the level of the cards I added to my line ups and did not have any different cards I could use to get the same result.
I am slowly leveling up my cards to help reduce the amounts I am penalized but this will take me a lot of time. Also, with the new Rebellion card edition being released around July 2023, I think it best to focus on leveling up my Chaos Legion, Riftwatcher and associated reward cards so that I am better positioned when they replace the Untamed edition with Rebellion in the Modern match format.
