Weekly Splinterlands Challenge: Silenced Summoners
Welcome back, Summoners! I'm @easilykilled, and this is my submission for the weekly challenge within the thrilling world of Splinterlands. This week, we're taking on the Silenced Summoners challenge. So, grab your spellbooks and let's get started!
Introduction
This week's challenge is all about the silenced summoners ruleset, which as I am sure you all know, restricts our options in battle as we lose out on the buffs/debuffs that our summoners normally provide us in our fight.
The key thing to remember is the level cap does still apply
The game description:
Silenced Summoners: Summoners do not give any buffs/debuffs or grant/use abilities..
The Match Ruleset
This match challenge had a low mana cap of 24 with the following rulesets: Silenced Summoners, Explosive Weaponry and Ferocity. Here's a quick rundown about the ruleset and what splinters were available:
- Silenced Summoners: Summoners do not give any buffs/debuffs or grant/use abilities.
- Explosive Weaponry: All units gain the Blast ability.
- Ferocity: All units have the Fury ability.
- Splinters available: Fire | Life | Death | Earth | Dragon
My Team
For this challenge, I decided to go with an fire lineup, a big consideration to keep in mind is the additional ruleset of the match with blast and fury. Here's a breakdown of my team:
- [Tarsa]: Our fire summoner
- [Exploding Rats]: Putting Exploding rats in as our front liner, because he has high Speed, Damage and the abilities true strike and redemption.
- [Tenyii Striker]: Tenyii is a nice 2nd spot unit with dodge, backfire and sneak, with his decently high hp he can be a good secondary tank while still being able to do some damage from the backline
- [Djinn Apprentice]: Djinn has high speed and damage.
- [Supply Runner]: Supply runner is our next minion, he has Swiftness and Strengthen abilities. In this match I used him for his high speed and team wide buffs
- [Scorch Fiend]: Finally we have scorch fiend, he has demoralize to lower the enemy melee damage, and costs 0 mana to fill the last position in case our opponent also used sneak.
Opponent's Team
Now, let's take a look at my opponent's team. They went with a lineup that used the dragon splinter Quix the Devious and tried to utilize the dragon type. Here's what I was up against:
- [Quix the Devious]: His dragon summoner
- [Void Dragon]: My opponent used Void dragon as his tank, a good high HP with void, flying and phase a good tank option.
- [Carnage Titan]: A good unit for number 2, he has reach and double strike with lots of armor and hp and high damage ouch!
- [Dhampir Infiltrator]: A good backline unit that has double strike, cripple and sneak.
- [Corpse fiend]: Finally he added corpse fiend to protect against sneak.
Battle
My opponent strategy seems to be using Quix the Devious with double strike units Dhampir infiltrator and Carnage titan, behind a good tank and a corpse fiend for protection.
My strategy with the rulesets in this match was to try get my attacks off first with high speed targeting his backline and tank.
In Round 1 we see some misses from the enemy team, the higher speed we had helped us target his backline and blast hurt Dhampir infiltrator who is then finished off by the rats redemption, and at the end of round 1 we have almost killed his tank, and removed 2 units from his backline
In Round 2 the opponents carnage titan missed both of his hits, we got rid of his void dragon and only have 1 unit left.
In Round 3 we finally get our victory.
MVP
Supply runner was the MVP for me, as the enemy had a lot of misses I feel the team wide swiftness had a big help.
Tips
If you're facing a similar challenge, here are some tips that might help you out when you encounter this ruleset: Your summoner can be a lower cost but high level summoner in the silenced summoner ruleset.
With fury, I would not use any taunt units or they will take double damage from everyone.
With blast a good idea is to use high speed to try get the attacks off before the enemy. You can also include a unit with Reflection Shield in your lineup to absorb blast damage and protect your back line.
Venator kinjo is a reflection shield unit
Conclusion
Until next time, keep battling, keep grinding, keep growing!
