Happy sixth birthday Splinterlands

in #hive-133236 months ago

Six years is a drop in the ocean, when it comes to a human beings life.
However, this is massive when it comes to exploring uncharted territories. Not only has the team behind Splinterlands kept the game going, but they have sustained and grown a community along side. A community of independent and strong willed individuals at that.

As though building consecutively for six years has not been a challenge in and of itself. What amazes me is how they have attempted to stay true to the values of crypto and decentralization and play to earn. Many have much to say around this topic and have things to say concerning the whales of the game. However, my opinion for such, is build some skin into the game and become a whale above those wanting a free game to peruse, that in itself will make you protector over your assets and what you have risked which you could have easily taken to another place that will pay you small recurring dividends risk free I guess.

I am two years in, going into my third year of being actively interested in the game and so much has changed since. Wondering on those that have been there since day one Six years makes me wonder how much has changed and where the game was when it started. I bet those that were part of the first edition cards really do feel the difference. And there loyalty, love and respect of the game on another level.

My hope is it keeps growing , have more fun . At this point it’s safe to say Splinterlands is a world on its on. A world worth exploring and tales will be told to the next generation of what was when we where starting. like I am constantly hearing tales of where people found it. Lucky are they that started it when it was just starting. I would have loved to get a head start with massive airdrops and experiencing the raise from a simple coin and riding the wave to its all time high.

Pain can be felt when reflected on things that way. But a lesson is to be learnt from that. My focus goes to leaning from it. And that’s where I am going to focus my energies. The experience has thought me to always be on the hunt for new technologies. Early investors stay winning. The world indeed belongs to the paranoids.

Life rewards the brave. We naturally focus on, what if I lost x and not what’s there to gain. Splinterlands is a testament to those who dare to dream, those who dare to push boundaries and build, long before the masses approve of something.

Yes the game is going through tough times. How you choose to play your cards here is going to be a good reflection point of who you are and what you stand to gain or loose at large.

Happy sixth birthday to the Splinterlands community and the team behind it at large. How you are going to navigate these trying times remains the Elephant in the room.
