Hej 👋 fellow Splinterlands Player,
This weeks "Hello" is in Danish Language, as this brawl finished just after my weekly post and I think by the next weekly post timing current brawl which is in preparation mode will finish I decided to do this standalone Brawl report only.
🍕PIZZA 3 Hand-Tossed Guild🍕
Our #HivePizza 3 Guild took 🥇1st Place again in the brawl, I was back in Novice Chaos legion fray for which I had 8 Battles and ended with 7W👍 1L👎 finishing at second spot for the guild. Just realized my screenshot of the result did not had merits or crowns displayed but if memory serves correct I got around 1200 merits for this brawl and am currently bit less than 300 short of buying next gladius pack
Brawls Report
Battle #1
Opponent Fled - well nothing better to start with a free win🙂
Battle #2
Ruleset Definitions
Silenced Summoners | Summoners do not give any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities
Explosive Weaponry | All monsters get the Blast (does additional half damage to adjacent monsters) ability |
Normally for Silenced Summoner ruleset, it is recommended to use summoners with lowest Mana requirement so you can use that spare mana to select more monster cards, but in this case only active splinters were Fire and Earth and both those summoners are 4 Mana ones. so this ruleset is not going to affect team selection
Explosive Weaponry now this one is interesting because if I choose Fire Splinter then attack is going to be mostly Melee based and if I choose Earth attack is going to be mostly Magic one and same will be applicable for opponent mostly and with Magic Attack and Explosive Weaponry advantage is that the blast damage to adjacent monsters is also done to health (unless that monster has Void armor ability) so armor becomes pretty much useless. So I decided to go with Obsidian and add Mycelia Queen in lineup to give armor to whole team in case if opponent went with Tarsa
MVP Cards in this lineup
Spirit Hoarder | Normally people tend to choose Goblin Psychic for her Tank Heal ability but in this case I did not wanted healing for tank Legionnaire Alvar as it had enough armor and health (with Void Armor ability) to survive any kind of attack for few rounds, I wanted to have healing for rest in line and Spirit Hoarder's Triage ability is just for that to protect (by healing) back line from Snipe and Sneak damages |
The opponent also chose Earth Splinter for this battle but my lineup was just too powerful compared to theirs, and won the battle without breaking a sweat.
Battle #3
Ruleset Definitions
Super Sneak | All monsters have the Sneak ability meaning they target end of line monsters first
Up Close and Personal | Only Melee attack monsters can be used |
Well with Super Sneak and Up and Close Personal ruleset in same battle, it was done deal for me to use Fire Splinter all the way
Frankly there was no one MVP Card in this battle, both Groth as front line tank and Grum Fireblade as back line tank played their role and all the other monsters in the lineup dealt the damage they were supposed to deal and again won the game without loosing a single monster in my lineup
Battle #4
Ruleset Definitions
Healed Out | All healing abilities are removed from summoners and monsters
Close Range | Monster with Range attacks can attack from first position |
With only option to choose from Death and Dragon splinters, the ruleset were not going to be important factor in team selection, if I go with Death not much options with good Melee attackers if opponent chooses Dragon and if opponent chooses Death most of the Magic attacks will end up to 1 only, so went with Brute force option to use Dragon Summoner Quix the devious
MVP Cards in this lineup
Carnage Titan | The Double strike ability helped with the Brute force strategy I had in mind and certainly having dealing double strikes from start with Reach ability came in handy also with all that armor and health made it a good second tank |
Opponent went with Death splinter and Cursed Windeku and Magi Necrosi caused enough damage to take out my Desert Dragon, but Carnage Titan played his role as attacker and tanker and tore through rest of opponents lineup.
Battle #5
Ruleset Definitions
Holy Protection | All monsters have the Divine Shield ability meaning first attack on monsters is ignored
Broken Arrows | Monsters with Range Attack can not be used |
Again for this battle too, rather than Rulesets it was availability of splinters which decided the course, of the available Fire and Life it was certainly going to be Fire splinter which I am more comfortable with.
MVP Cards in this lineup
Spirit Hoarder | Again his Triage ability helped a lot in keeping back line Tenyii Striker doing its job by healing him in each round
Gorth | This is my new favorite replacement for Grum Fireblade, it lacks the armor and Void armor ability but that is properly compensated with higher attack and speed and less mana cost and once it starts getting Bloodlust working there is no stopping this monster |
The opponent also went with Fire Summoner Tarsa and had Grum Fireblade as tank with Scavo hearling creating a nuisance for some rounds by retsoring Grum's armor but with little help from Radiated Brute once Gorth took down Grum it was smooth battle. Well I should also mention Tenyii Striker as he took down few of opponents back line monsters and with help of Spirit Hoarder survived the assault of oppponent's Tenyii Striker
Battle #6
Ruleset Definitions
Noxious Fumes | All monsters start the game poisoned meaning they will take 2 Health damage unless they are immune or are cleansed
Melee Mayhem | Monsters with Melee attack can attack from any position |
Melee Mayhem and only Fire and Death splinters active, this was always going to be Fire Summoner Tarsa for me just needed to make sure I compensate properly for Noxious Fumes too
This battle also I will say did not had any particular MVP card, Scavo Chemist did his job of cleansing *Gorth from poison so that he does not get 2 HP damage at start of each round and Forgotten one with his immunity ability stood their rock solid dealing the damage and so did back line monsters with their higher health easily survived couple of round of damages by poison while in meantime opponent's lineup washed out in 3rd round only
Battle #7
Ruleset Definitions
Super Sneak | All monsters have the Sneak ability meaning they target end of line monsters first
Reverse Speed | Monsters with slowest speed attack first and have higher chance of evading attacks |
Well this one had only Fire splinter active so not much choice there, and with low mana cap of 16, this battle was going to be about what monster to choose and how to place them. Contemplated between Grum Fireblade and Chimney Wallstop and chose Chimney because it was 1 mana less cost and that meant I could use a 2 mana card at the end of line which I chose as Xenith Archer providing me with some HP at end to survive at least couple of blows and also dealing some Ranged Attack
The opponent went with Grum Fireblade and well having Xenith Archer at the end of line helped as I thought while Chimney withstood blows from Grum and dealt some in return.
Battle #8
Ruleset Definitions
Rise of the Commons | Only Common and Rare Monsters may be used in battles |
Rise of Common ruleset so not much use of Dragon Splinter, so between other Life and Fire splinters, I certainly feel more comfortable playing with Fire so that was my choice
Well unfortunately for me, opponent made better choice of using Life splinter and nice lineup to which my lineup did not stand chance especially after loosing my tank Chimeny Wallstop in first couple of round itself🙁.
