In this video we take a quick look at Bulldog's "controversial" recent proposal. I think it should easily pass. It is a fantastic idea that simultaneously helps Splinterlands now and prepares the DAO for the future!

I hope you enjoy!

I also voted YES on this proposal, but many of my influential guildmates voted against it. However, it is just a small detail that I think would change their vote against to a vote for.

Cryptoeater raised a good point that if people know there will be "forced buys" from the DAO, DEC holders will sell into the buy pressure at inflated valuations to extract maximum profits. This will only lead to a short and unsustainable bump and not have the desired long-term effect we want on the ecosystem at large.

The counter proposal from the "azircon block" for lack of a better term, would be to use the DAO stables to buy DEC at a fixed number to create a minimum price buy wall on the downside. So instead of using DAO funds to arbitrarily buy DEC up to the maximum price of 950 splintoshis, the funds should be used to create a price FLOOR.

I think a proposal of this type would pass with unilateral support. For example, DAO funds should only be used to buy DEC when the price falls below 750 or 800 Splintoshis. I think this provides more gradual support for DEC without letting profiteering extractors take advantage of this DEC timed buy proposal. It also allows the DAO to accumulate more of the DEC at a discount to peg.

Bulldog is on the right track with his proposal, but I think those with large stakes who are concerned about bad actors taking advantage are justified. His methodology was a bit too straightforward. Hopefully if this doesn't pass the first time, we can get a revised proposal with a DEC buy floor up for a vote sooner than later, as a minimum buy threshold does seem like the best outcome. Interestingly, Azircon was not able to sway the opinion of your programming partner BraveTofu, who despite our ongoing discussions, decided to keep his YES vote and is one of the only times I've witnessed him and Azircon differing on a vote.
