I agree the rental market is changing.
However I just rented cards at around 9000 CP/DEC.
Since I topped out rating wise in Silver 1 last season I am thinking the cost per day is good to move up into gold and get the higher payouts.

Those prices are not forever. Once the bots return, things will change. The old pricing cycle is finished. Only a handful of bot owners have exited and the number of battles and daily active users has fallen considerably.
The challenge for the bots is renting for performance, not power and that's no easy task. The bots are generally uncompetitive and they were able to get their rating by facing other bots in the bot farms - win trading.
We're going to see how the ecosystem changes when the bots return.
I agree the system has to find it's new normal. Most of my rentals have been pulled back already. I am seeing many higher level summoners down in Silver.
