Hello, after a long time I decided to make a new post about Splinterlands since recently I finally decided to leave the silver/gold league to try the diamond/champion league. Ever since I started in the game I've always had the thought: what should it be like to play at the top? and how would my earnings be?.
I stopped thinking and finally decided to give it a try, but looking at the results I believe I should have made that decision a long time ago.
My first step was to leave the gold league and go to diamond, it wasn't so difficult but the rent was a little high because I ended up renting a lot of cards that in the end I ended up using only half of them. The rental cost was 2000 DEC per day and I only rented cards at the maximum level of the gold league, but you don't need to base it on that value since you can go from gold league to diamond spending less, I think for less than 1000 DEC per day is enough to reach the diamond.
But it wasn't a total waste because even though I spent a lot more DEC than I should have I had a wide variety of cards to use and that allowed me to get to diamond 2, yes with gold level cards I was able to get to half of the diamond with 3200+ rating.
I went from gold 3 with 2050 rating to 3200+ in diamond spending a total of 100 energy, this value was 50 that I accumulated initially +50 energy that was recovering during the 2 days of rentals.
My first goal which was to reach the diamond league was completed, regarding earnings and fun I couldn't say anything yet because the amount of SPS I rented wasn't high enough to have decent earnings and I also didn't have cards at the level to find out how much fun it was to play to the max in that league.
I finished my first test with a 3200 rating, the lease was over and what I had left to do now was wait for the energy to be restored to 50 again and I go to my second test which is towards the champion league and it is in this test which I am currently as I write this post.
After having the energy restored it was time to start the second test but now using cards at the maximum level and making the most of what the diamond league had to offer.
First I increased my number of SPS in stake and for that I rented a total of 70000 SPS, this is a little low for the diamond league but I didn't want to spend too much since renting the cards wouldn't be cheap either and as the current rewards in Splinterlands aren't very good so I didn't want to have too much damage, at least I'll try to recover what I spent.
To play in the diamond league I spent a total of 3000 DEC/day for 2 days, this may be a bit high for the diamond league so don't try to base it on it because I rented several cards and from all 6 decks, you can choose fewer cards and less deck and have a much lower value and great results too, but as my focus was the champion league so I decided to spend a slightly higher amount. This is my first time trying the league and I just said that you can play in it and have good results spending less because I didn't get to use all the cards I rented.
The scenario I'm currently in is with a 3587 rating on diamond 1, I have 2 energy and I still have 24 hours of rent left so I still have +25 energy to spend.
My opinion so far is that playing in the diamond league is much more fun than playing in the silver/gold league, having the cards at the maximum level makes the battles more exciting and in this league the opponents are much more difficult to defeat. On the other hand the rewards disappointed me a little since in diamond 1 I am earning an average of 2.5 SPS per battle, I would have earned more if I had rented more SPS but for now I am just testing the possibilities and gains before investing more in the next one season.
I probably won't recover all the investment I've made so far to play in these leagues but it's not a problem because it made me have a sense of what I need to do to get a good return on my future investments in the game, for that I'll rent more SPS and lower my card rental costs by renting 1 or 2 decks less.
My test didn't come to an end because I still need to reach the champion league and for that I still have 6 days of the season, I think that at this rate I will make it.
On the first day in the diamond league I managed to accumulate 17 chests and the rewards were good.
I hope to earn more SPS and gold foils in the next chests and when I reach the champion league the rewards should get even better.
