Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches but this round was especially tough as I didn't win any of my submitted fights.
Brawl Result
I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 2 wins. There was 1 free win in this match because one guild didn't submit someone for a game. My rewards for the brawl were 4,143 merits and 60.603 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 6th place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. I didn't do so great but my guild did cover for part of it as the rewards weren't so bad.
Brawl fights
There were 1 that I won and 6 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.
You can find the first match here. I lost this match. My opponent just had the stronger lineup with that powerful summoner. That buff along with armored strike on the bloodlust monster was deadly.
You can find the second match here. I lost this match. My opponent just had the stronger lineup when you consider the level difference. Especially that heal on Pelacor Mercenary.
You can find the third match here. I lost this match because my opponent had the stronger lineup again. Possibilius and Coastal Sentry are a deadly combination.
You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match. My opponent had the stronger lineup again. There wasn't much that I could do when my opponent had weapons training and a wingbreak monster.
You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match again. My opponent just outplayed me with all those void monsters.
You can find the sixth match here. I lost this match. The level disadvantage was too high and my opponent just had more damage than me.
You can find the seventh match here. I lost this match but it was close. My opponent just had more damage and I couldn't do much.
Conclusion
I think doing 8 fights for 4,143 merits and 60.603 SPS is a good reward for the effort. This was a rough brawl as I got completely wiped in those 7 matches. The only positive thing was that I got 1 free win. My guild saved the rewards and rankings though as we didn't place that bad even though I did horribly.
