Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. Rebellion has also changed the battles and I keep losing my fights recently. I ended up with the same results as last time and our guild ranked lower, but we got more rewards.
Brawl Result
I chose the gold foil modern brawl and got 6 wins. There was 3 guild that did not assign a participant in my brawl so there were 3 free win. My rewards for the brawl were 3,722 merits and 35.763 SPS in the 3-star category. My guild ranked 5th place out of the 10 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. The rewards are higher this time around so I think the brawl rewards are more or less dependant on the total points that a guild got. We ranked higher last round but the rewards were less than this round. The only difference was that we had more points in 5th place than what we had last week at 3rd place.
Brawl fights
There were 1 that I won, 2 won due to surrender and 3 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.
You can find the first match here. I lost this match and my opponent demolished me. He had two bloodlust monsters and it was hard to stop them. I couldn't take out the enrage monster fast enough either so it dealt massive damage to my lineup. I just had my damage spread out too much.
You can find the second match here. I lost this match and my opponent just outlasted me. The poison was the reason for my loss.
You can find the third match here. I lost this match because of Mylor. The thorns just worked against me because I used all melee monsters.
You can find the fourth match here. I won this match because of my fast monsters and the damage that I had. Repair worked well against Katrelba Gobson because the sneak couldn't kill off my last monster. I also took advantage of the ruleset and the stun ability to increase my damage.
Conclusion
I think doing 8 fights for 3,722 merits and 35.763 SPS is a good reward for the effort. It was an average brawl. I guess the rank doesn't matter as much but it matters more on the points that your guild collects for rewards. I hope we get a lot of points next round as well.
