Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. Rebellion has also changed the battles and I keep losing my fights recently. I got better results than last time because a lot of opponents did not submit their matches.
Brawl Result
I chose the gold foil modern brawl and got 7 wins. There were 4 guilds that did not assign a participant in my brawl so there were 4 free wins. My rewards for the brawl were 3,167 merits and 27.022 SPS in the 3-star category. My guild ranked 5th place out of the 10 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. The rewards are lower this time around and it looks like we got far less points this week. So it follows along what I thought about the points leading to the SPS/merit rewards.
Brawl fights
There were 2 that I won, 1 won due to surrender and 2 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.
You can find the first match here. I won this match and I won due to the bloodlust monster. I thought the thorns would be my loss but I was able to dodge enough attacks and beat my opponent.
You can find the second match here. I lost this match and my opponent had the stronger lineup. I used quite a few magic monsters and the summoner went against me.
You can find the third match here. I lost this match because I didn't have many options. My opponent just had stronger cards as tanks and he was able to deal enough damage to win the match.
You can find the fourth match here. I won this match because of bloodlust monster. Using cleanse on my shield tank worked out to my advantage. That bloodlust monster just dealt enough damage to take out the immunity monster and won me the match.
Conclusion
I think doing 5 fights for 3,167 merits and 27.022 is a good reward for the effort. It was a pretty decent brawl and there was a surprising amount of guilds that did not submit a person in the brawl fray. As I thought like last time, the points that our guild gets determine the SPS and merits that I earn. My guild got less points and the SPS/merits were down as a result of that.
