Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. Rebellion has also changed the battles and I keep losing my fights recently. It was a good brawl and our guild did a great job placing this week.
Brawl Result
I chose the gold foil modern brawl and got 6 wins. There were 2 free wins because 2 of them failed to submit a match. My rewards for the brawl were 4,556 merits and 51.121 SPS in the 3-star category. My guild ranked 2nd place out of the 10 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. Our guild added a few new players and we got better luck in brawls this time around.
Brawl fights
There were 3 that I won, 1 won due to surrender, and 2 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.
You can find the first match here. I lost this match because of my opponent's heal monster. My damage was too spread out so i couldn't do too much against my opponent.
You can find the second match here. I won this match because of my flying monsters. I played according to the ruleset and was able to take out those low health monsters.
You can find the third match here. I won this match because I took advantage of low mana cards and dealt more damage than my opponent. I also avoided melee monsters but my opponent did not due to the thorns from the ruleset.
You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match because my opponent used a lot of high mana cards to tank while the magic monsters slowly wiped out my monsters. I couldn't do much after that as I relied on ranged monsters.
You can find the fifth match here. I won this match because I took advantage of inspire to boost my melee monsters. All of that added up and my opponent couldn't do much because I landed most of my attacks.
Conclusion
I think doing 8 fights for 4,556 merits and 51.121 SPS is a good reward for the effort. It was definitely a good brawl because we got plenty of points and we performed the best when compared to the previous few brawls. I noticed that we are moving back to 4 star brawls so I hope that my win rate can hold up there.
