Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. Rebellion has also changed the battles and I keep losing my fights recently. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger.
Brawl Result
I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 6 wins. There was 1 free win because 1 of them failed to submit a match. My rewards for the brawl were 5,571 merits and 86.126 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 3rd place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. This brawl was better than my last one in terms of my wins and my guild's placement.
Brawl fights
There were 4 that I won, 1 that I won due to surrender, and 2 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.
You can find the first match here. I won this match because of my summoner and I think it was a fairly close match. The armor and speed advantage was enough to tip the match in my favor but I could have lost if that scattershot monster hit the right monsters.
You can find the second match here. I lost this match and there wasn't much I could do when I missed too many attacks. I guessed that flying summoner did its job on my opponent's end.
You can find the third match here. I won this match due to my summoner and it's ability to remove the armor from the ruleset. This allowed me to deal damage directly to my opponent and gave me enough time to finish off the monsters on my opponent's side.
You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match due to the shield monsters on my opponent's side. I couldn't deal enough damage due to the demoralize.
You can find the fifth match here. I won this match due to the bloodlust monster. It was a close match and I just got lucky towards the end of the match.
You can find the sixth match here. I won this match due to the close range monsters that I used. They were able to tank quite a bit of damage and my flying tank also dodged a few attacks so that gave me a slight edge against my opponent.
Conclusion
I think doing 8 fights for 5,571 merits and 86.126 SPS is a good reward for the effort. Both my guild and I did great this time around. In fact, I think it's the best result we have had for a 4-star brawl. I noticed that there were quite a few ranged-only fights, and I won them all this time.
