Brawl Report #97: Back to getting destroyed in brawls

in #hive-133232 months ago

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. Rebellion has also changed the battles and I keep losing my fights recently. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches but I didn't win many matches this time. Outside of one fight that I won, the other 2 wins were because my opponent wasn't there.

I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 5 wins. There was 1 free win in this match because one guild didn't submit someone for a match. My rewards for the brawl were 4,571 merits and 71.465 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 5th place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. These brawls sure are rough as I didn't do so well. I guess my guild members carried the rest for us.

Brawl fights

There were 1 that I won, 1 due to surrender, and 5 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

image.png
You can find the first match here. I lost this match. My opponent was too much to overcome. The magic monsters added in with Katrelba Gobson just demolished my front and back line.

image.png
You can find the second match here. I lost this match again. I tried to outlast my opponent but that high health close range monster with headwinds was too much for me to overcome.

image.png
You can find the third match here. I won this match because I had more ranged damage monsters. We had a similar idea to stall monsters but I think the number of monsters that I had added up and it allowed me to deal more damage through blast compared to my opponent. It was close but I did manage to move up his ranged monsters up front before mine did.

image.png
You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match because of the tankier monsters on my opponent's side. The level difference does play a difference as I was lacking too much damage and my my opponent was able to deal more damage than me.

image.png
You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had faster monsters. Adding in Tarsa's boosted melee damage and the magic monster, my monsters couldn't last long at all.

image.png
You can find the sixth match here. I lost this match because of Quora. I couldn't do much against all the heals that my opponent had. Once that monster stacks bloodlust, I start missing attacks and it can easily kill off my monsters to gain even more stats.

Conclusion

I think doing 8 fights for 4,571 merits and 71.465 SPS is a good reward for the effort. I lost most of my matches but I am glad to get at least one win without my opponent surrendering. The level disadvantage is hard to overcome and I find myself on a disadvantage due to the speed difference.

I saw the first battle. The opponent just had better cards if you actually ask me. Plus, I think you have a preference or liking to the set of cards you used in the first game, and the summoner too.

Yea. The level advantage hurts me quite a bit and I tend to just go with similar lineups each week. There are probably minor differences but it makes the process easier for me.
