Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge that can be found in this week's post. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because they get to learn about the game. In this week's challenge, I talk about how incredible
Featured summoner
Immortalis is a earth summoner that costs 6 mana. This summoner reduces enemy health by 1 and gives all of your monsters void and shatter. I have this summoner at level 2 and this is a good summoner to use in general, but it works best when against magic monsters due to the halved damage.
Rule set, Battle and Plan
The ruleset this time is Wands Out and Lost Legendaries. This means that only magic monsters can be used and no legendary monsters can be used. There is also 46 mana and I can choose any splinter except for death or dragon.
Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Immortalis | 6 | Summoner | -1 Health, Shatter and Void |
Regal Peryton | 5 | 1st | Flying |
Suidae Shaman | 8 | 2nd | Charge |
Magi of Chaos | 6 | 3rd | |
Madcap Magus | 4 | 4th | Scattershot and Life Leech |
Goblin Psychic | 6 | 5th | Tank Heal and Affliction |
Mycelic Slipspawn | 9 | 6th | Taunt |
Total Mana: | 44 |
The summoner that I chose is Immortalis because of the halved magic damage. My tank is Regal Peryton with flying incase my opponent has Quora. I am not worried about the low health that Regal has because I have Mycelic Slipspawn in my last spot with taunt. My 2nd spot is a backup tank with recharge to deal massive damage when I face another monster with void. The next two monsters are damage dealers. My 5th monster is my only support monster with tank heal and affliction.
Round 1
At first glance, I think that I have the advantage. I don't see any way of my opponent winning because he did not make the most of the mana and his damage is cut in half. Even with the summoner buff, it doesn't do enough to kill off my monsters fast enough. My damage advantage is too high compared to my opponent due to Immortalis.
I was able to win the match a few rounds later as I expected. My opponent couldn't deal much damage to me at all and my monsters just wiped the floor with his.
Conclusion
The battle this time played out as expected. Immortalis is an insanely great summoner for magic only fights. My lineup was strong and the taunt monster tanked most of the hits while my tank was healed for whatever he took each turn. Add in all the other monsters dealing damage every single turn, my lineup was too much for my opponent to overcome. The match would have been closer if he used more of the mana cap and didn't have a level disadvantage, but I still think that my lineup would have won regardless. Immortalis is that great of a summoner in this ruleset, but I think it would have been stronger if Immortalis was level 3 with a higher level Goblin Psychic for silence.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
