This is my FIRST TIME OPENING CHAOS LEGION PACKS! How many legendaries did I open? WAS I ABLE TO SNATCH THE EVER ELUSIVE GOLD FOIL LEGENDARY? Watch the video to find out!
When the general sale started, I bought 1800 Chaos legion packs - YES I said 1800! It was honestly more than I had originally planned for, but seeing where Splinterlands is going - I knew that it was an investment worth making. My original plan was to hold all those packs and not open them for two specific reasons:
- SPS Airdrop Points
- Legendary Summoners
While each Chaos Legion packs give 300 collection power towards SPS airdrop points, an average opened pack is only about 200 collection power! If you are 100% average, you miss out on 100 CP of SPS airdrop points by opening packs!
The second reason is legendary summoner airdrops. If you look at historical values, legendary summoners are almost always worth more than all other legendary monster cards. What this means is that as Legendary summoners are released as part of airdrops, they will increase the value of each pack opened. YES - think about it - Quix the Devious is a relatively lack-luster legendary summoner, but it is still, by far, the most valuable legendary card in the Chaos legion set. Well - ignore Doctor Blight as a special case!
If the chances of opening a legendary summoner are the same as that of other legendary cards, then we should see pack values increase as the legendary summoners are released!
Even with all the logic behind NOT opening them, I was a little tired of sitting on the sidelines. PLUS, I love the game itself, and adding cards to my collection allows me to play the game at a higher level!
