Ayeee, welcome to another epic (or maybe not so much š) weekly battle post by me! Without further ado, lets first review our star of the week, Disintegrator !!
Fueled by the sickly green crystal of chaos, Morloth's abominable creation terrorized Praetoria and its inhabitants. With the torso of a mountain gorilla, the hind quarters of a crocodile and the mouth of a leach, the Disintegrator is a mismatch of devastating qualities.
As with most melees, he seems to be of the tank type, but to be honest quite outclassed by most other generic tanks out there since he lack any defensive or regenerative ability to hang on. What set him apart though is Demoralize, the ability to give enemies -1 Melee, which turns out very good in match you are confident enemy will pick lots of melee. I love to pair him with Mylor specifically so the team can tank more hits.
At higher level he will have access to Trample, Knock Out and Retaliate but can't comment much as I had no experience in that.
Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Mylor Crowling | 3 | Summoner | Thorn up the team to kill those pesky Melees. |
Mycelic Slipspawn | 9 | 1st | Taunt helps protect the squishies from getting removed straight away in the first round. |
Disintegrator | 7 | 2nd | -1 Melee to enemy to counter possible Inspire or just generally weaken them. |
Grund | 10 | 3rd | Main source of damage, very good in Opportunity rounds. |
Goblin Psychic | 6 | 4th | Heal up Slipspawn so she can hopefully last longer. |
Queen Mycelia | 4 | 5th | Shield for everyone! |
Sporcerer | 6 | 6th | No shield for the enemies! |
Total Mana: | 45 |
Another match in a tournament! It's a Equal Opportunity, No Range, 48 Mana game, Novice League all card playable. And so I predicted a Melee heavy team, probably with Inspire like Demented Shark, and thus I went Counter-Melee.
However! My prediction was way off, and instead it was a Magic spam! But my damage output and placement gave me an overall advantage, securing the win. I'd say Slipspawn was the MVP here actually with that Taunt, protecting my healer and Myc Queen from getting removed early.
So while the overall idea of countering Melees sadly wasn't that prevalent here, I guess I can say it's still quite the solid lineup, since even the unexpected Magic Spam can't melt them down!
And yes I quite like the guy, both lore and gameplay wise. My go to each Melee mayhem/ Equal Opportunity/ Melee only!
