For this week art, i present you the cutest Javelin Thrower ever recorded. She's a bit tired of fighting and taking a rest for a while. I've been curious for a long time what might be she look like without the costume thats why today i decided to make one. It's for everyone who's curious on what she really looks like.
Please Splinterlands make more waifu character. We need more of it.
About my process on making her, I'll put a GIF version and the static version of my progress on the end.
I always start with physique sketch. This time i make my sketch digital, I am practicing now since I'm going to buy my first pen tablet at near soon. I feel so sad since vector art aint getting good response. Digital painting always win the art contest and I'm going to join the trend soon.
My next step is the lining, In this step I always took my time. this is the main foundation on my art. The result will determine the final result of my art. I dont need to make the lining perfect since I can tweak it on process, but at least i have to make some part of it great.
The third step will be the base color, On this part i can decide what the shadow and highlight color will be on the later steps. I also make sure that the color way will be the same as the original art. Im not a fan of character illustration that doesnt have the details of the original. I'm curious how can art like that gain a slot at the winners ladder. It also receive lots of upvote.
This step i create the shadow and highlights. It should be in the shades of the base color so that it wont look messy that contrast the color. On this art i've decided to make the lightning on upper right side of the canvas.
The last part is rechecking the art, I always look for something to add or remove. In vector art it is easy to edit the art since It always make every single details in different layers. On this art I created atleast 500+ layers
