Overview

The new Weekly ruleset Challenge is an amazing twist that I am enjoying so far and I hope there will be twists like that in the future to keep this Challenge's fresh. 😁

This week the ruleset is the Odd Ones Out, which means that only units with odd mana costs may be used.

Tips:

  • Summoners are not affected by this rule.

The upcoming Battle ruleset

RulesetDescription
Odd Ones OutOnly Monsters with odd Mana costs may be used in battles.

The mana cap for my next battle is 24, which is not much and there would be two options to play either using more small mana cost monsters and try to focus the enemy monsters or to use powerful high mana cost ones and rely on their strength, huge health or defensive abilities.

The Odd Ones Out ruleset is not my favorite at all, because it heavily limits the available monster pool for this battle and basically it will remove all the even mana cost monster from it, which makes it much more difficult to setup a team or to avoid a mirror match if there is not much Splinter available.

Luckily there were no other ruleset in play, so I might be able to pick a different team and strategy than my opponent! 😁

My lineup

image.png
Lux Vega is a promo card, so it is not possible to acquire her unles you buy her from the market. She is an amazing all around Summoner, because she cost 5 mana and she gives +1 speed, armor and health to all of her monsters. Her most important feature is that she is a Neutral card, so all the Splitners will be able to use her except the Dragon Splinter. 🤫
The Cruel Sethropod is the perfect low mana tank, because he cost only 3 mana and he has a lot of health and armor compared to his mana cost. He doesn't have any ability, but he is capable to sustain a lot of incoming damage. 👍

The Sultry Barmaid is a new Rebellion monster and he has few interesting abilites apart from his 2 attack damage. He has the Ambush ability, which will give him an extra attack at thevery beginning of the battle, but more importantly he has the Stun ability as well, so if he is lucky he can Stun his target straight away in the first round allowing them to skip their turn. 😊
The Pelacor Bandit is one of my favorite reward monster, because he has a lot of speed and the Flying ability, which will make him to dodge a lot of incoming attacks, which is much better than having any armor with lower speed. 🤗

The Uraeus cost only 3 mana and his ability is Sneak, which makes him to attack the last monster from the enemy team. He also has the Poison ability, which means that he will damage two extra damage at the end of every round if he manages to Poison his target, which has a 50% cahcne! 😊
Noa the Just is another reward card and he doesn't have any damage, but his speed is exceptional, which is quite good against the enemy Sneak attack monsters. On top of that he has +25% chance to dodge an incoming melee and ranged attack and his Rust ability will remove 2 armor piece from the enemy monsters. 🤞

My opponent brought the Lux Vega as well, because she is simply the best choice in almost any case thanks to her amazing skills and the possibility to mix her with any kind of Splinter.

I had an ambush attack in the first round from my Sultry Barmaid, which means that he got an extra attack before any of the monsters without the Ambush ability, so even though he did some damage on the enemy powerful tank he managed to Stun him as well, which is a huge advantage. 😊

Luckily in the first round my Sneak attack monsters were quicker than the ones my opponent had and they killed their Uraeus easily. My Noa and the back of my team was an excellent choice, because he was an amazing backline tank against the enemy Sneak attacks. 😇

My Sultry Barmaid attacked quicker than their tank and he managed to Stun him again, which gave me enough time to deal with their last Sneak attack monster if they wouldn't miss twice after each other, so I had to wait for him to die in the fourth round.

Their tank came out from the Stun and we couldn't Stun him again, so he started attacking my tank twice in every round, because he had the Armored Strike ability, which means that he is able to attack with his armor as well.

In the fifth round my Sultry stunned him again, which meant a lot, because he couldn't attack and use any of his abilites in this round andmy team were able to finish him off and win the battle. 💪

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

My strategy worked as I wanted even though my opponent brought a pretty strong tank with a lot of health, armor, Shield and the Repair ability, so without the Sultry Barmaid and his lucky Stun ability this battle would have a much different outcome. 😉
