Mages do not show their skills in public, they train themselves in special hideouts called Towers. They use special staffs, devices, and potions to hone their magic skills to perfection because a small error can turn cause a disaster.
Immortalis got recruits to train in his arena tower, it was an aiming practice, so he set a magical target practice mode for every recruit and asked them to only hit the first unit in the backline with magic, ranged, or no attack.
Target Proactive

This ruleset grants all units the "SNIPE" ability, but the Snipe ability only works for magic and ranged monsters. Snipe units target only monsters in 2nd position with ranged, magic, or no-attack.
Additional Rulesets: Keep Your Distance

Melee units are banned from entering the battle when the "Keep Your Distance" rule comes into effect.
BATTLE LINEUP
In this 22 mana battle, I have used 3 units led by a powerful battle mage.
The following images and tables show the monsters used in this battle:

---|---|
Immortalis (Summoner) | Obsidian (Summoner) |
Regal Peryton Flinger | Chaos Agent |
Goblin Psychic | Fungus Flinger |
Mushroom Seer | Regal Peryton |

STRATEGY
Players mostly use magic or ranged units in the Target Practice ruleset, so looking at the history of my opponent, I decided to go with Earth magic units. I used Immortalis to grant my units Void and Shatter abilities, and his -1 Health debuff would also reduce the hit points of enemy units.
Because of having low mana availability, I chose 1 low health tank and supported it with a healer and also used a monster to reduce the magic attack of enemy units with the Silence ability.
My opponent was a bit smart, he put the Martyr unit in 2nd position to improve the stats of adjacent units when it dies. But, I had a Silence monster in the backline, so even if they would get sniped for being in 2nd position.
Summoner and Monsters in Action

Immortalis is a legendary Earth summoner who bestows his units with Void and Shatter abilities, but that's not all, he also reduces 1 health point of enemy units. The Void ability reduces magic damage inflicted by 1 point and the Shatter ability destroys the armor.

Regal Peryton is a rare Earth unit, he serves as a tank in this battle, and he has a 25% chance of dodging a ranged or melee attack using his Flying ability.

Goblin Psychic sits in 2nd position, his job is to attack enemy units in 2nd position using the given Snipe ability and also heal tank unit.

Mushroom Seer stands in the last position, his Silence curse is very powerful, when he applies this debuff to enemy units they lose 1 magic attack point.
BATTLE VIDEO
Since both units were targeting 1st ranged, magic, and no attack monsters in the backline, it was tough to protect backline monsters due to Snipe ability. Watch this video and see how my team got control of enemy units and kicked them out.

BATTLE COMMENTARY
Obsidian bolsters their units with an extra magic attack to gain +1 point to their attacks.
Immortalis generates a Void shield for his units making them tough against magic attacks and also grants Shatter the ability to break the armor with 1 hit. His magic zap causes enemy units to lose 1 HP.
Round 1
Mushroom Seer sends tiny spores toward enemy units, the spores make them dizzy and they lose 1 magic attack.
Fungus Flinger tries to blind Immortalis' units, but they have magic senses activated and can see in the darkness.
Regal Peryton charges his wings and shoots magical feathers that immediately kill Chaos Agent.
Round 2
"Hehe, Inhale my spores, you'll feel sleepy, and die painlessly." says Mushroom Seer with a giggling voice. Then he throws one of his mushroom growth into Regal Peryton's mouth, he goes into a deep sleep and dies of toxins while in the sleep.
Round 3
Magi of Chaos has weakened Goblin Psychic, now he is just 1 hit away from being killed. Magi shoots chaos balls at Goblin Psychic and makes him die immediately.
Mushroom Seers turns brown in anger and emits very toxic puffs out of his mouth. He sprays Magi of Chaos with lots of spores and leaves no place on his body, he turns pale and green and starts to splash on the ground like a fish. He dies wriggling and splatting.
Rounds 4
Regal Peryton again spreads his wings and hurls feather spikes into Fungus Flinger damaging all his body parts, he drops to the ground and shrinks into a tiny dead mushroom.
Djinn Biljka receives additional stats and says "Now, I am stronger and powerful, kill me if you can?"
Round 5
Regal Peryton is in a complicated situation as his attack is not damaging Biljka, he looks toward Mushroom Seer with a question in his eyes.
"Biljka can hurt you slightly, but he can't kill you, let me handle this." responds Seer in a pacifying manner.
Mushroom Seer spits a toxic material on Djinn Biljka and then he fires a beam from his one eye, Biljka gets ablaze and turns into ashes slowly.
STRATEGY OUTCOME ANALYSIS
My opponent's strategy was quite impressive as he had used pretty tough cards. His plan was to increase the stats of Regal Peryton, but his plan did not succeed as everyone was targeting backline magic monsters. It was too late when Fungus Flinger died and Biljka got some stats, but to no avail as Mushroom Seer already dispatched him.
I think that if I had placed Mushroom Seer in 2nd position, he would have died in 2nd round and my opponent may have won easily. So, it is a lesson learned that always place your monsters wisely.
It is a good strategy for new players because the monster cards are pretty cheap and renting them is also inexpensive. Hope my viewers will try this out.
