In the farthest reaches of the splinterlands, beyond the storms and dangerous tides, lies the Abyss; a vast underwater kingdom shrouded in mystery and legend. At its heart rests the throne of the Ruler of the Seas, a being as ancient as the waters themselves. The Ruler of the Seas is said to possess knowledge beyond the scope of mortal understanding. But such wisdom comes at a price, for the Ruler of the Seas answers only to those who brave the perils of the abyss and prove their worth.
Card Details
The Ruler of the Seas is a formidable warrior in splinterlands. His abilities are a reflection of the ocean itself:
- Blast: Does additional damage to Monsters adjacent to the target Monster. Additional damage is equivalent to main damage divided by 2, rounded up.
- Swiftness: All friendly Monsters have their Speed increased by 1.
- Silence: Reduces the Magic Attack of all enemy Monsters by 1.
But as with any legend, he is not without his limitations. He will struggle in rulesets where magic damage is reflected.
Lore Expansion
Long before the rise of modern factions and the Chaos Legion wars, the Ruler of the Seas made an oath to guard the Eternal Abyssal Codex, a legendary artifact said to contain the secrets of the splinterlands' creation. This oath bound him to the seas, granting him power over their vastness but also isolating him from land. As centuries passed, the Codex became a mere myth to most, its existence whispered only in hushed tones among the learned few.
But those who venture to the Abyss seeking the Codex often meet their end in the form of crushing waters or the relentless guardians of the deep. The Ruler of the Seas does not tolerate fools. Many have tried to capture the Codex, and many have failed either being vanquished by the vast depth of the Abyss or by the Ruler of the Seas himself.
Whispers now ripple through the currents of the splinterlands. It is said that the Codex stirs once more, its secrets sought by factions who would use its power to tilt the balance of the world. The Ruler of the Seas finds himself at the centre of this oncoming storm and he may no longer be enough to protect the Codex.
This is where you, summoner, come into play. The Ruler of the Seas, despite his immense power, cannot protect the Codex alone. He seeks allies who will fight not for greed or glory, but for the preservation of balance in the splinterlands. But beware -- to align with the Ruler of the Seas, you must be ready to take on the weight of this war that's been ascends time and space.
Make Old Splinterlands Cards Great Again
The Ruler of the Seas is one of my favorite cards in splinterlands from my favorite set (Beta Edition). I would love to see the old cards be revived and gain more utility and use case in splinterlands. As more and more editions are released, we must strive to not forget the old cards that made splinterlands great.
