This Splinterlands Guide deals with Broken Arrows Ruleset. You will find answear to these questions: Which card to use for attack and defence? How to build your team. What else can you do to increse winrate? What is the best lineup?
Broken Arrows Ruleset - how does it work?
Let's start by explaining the basics. The only cards that can be used in this strategy are melee, magic and no attack monsters. It is recommended to use a high HP tank monster with Void ability. This card can handle both melee and magic attacks. If you expect magic and melee attacker then using Thorns, Retaliate or Magic Reflect is also very useful. First, you should choose the right summoner to help your team win the battle. Three of the best summoners from Chaos Legion set are Tarsa, Keyla Frendul and Obsidian. All of them give some nice buffs to whole your team.
Remember! Your opponent may also be smart and use magic attackers. As a result you need to be prepared for magic spam. The best option is to place Magic counters in front or card with high amount of HP.
Tips and Tricks
- Magic - the trick here is to use Magical monsters. Your opponents will probably do the same.
- Magic Reflect - beware of the possibility that your opponent might pick Owster Rotwell Summoner and reflect all magic attacks.
- Mix Team - The best option is balance team with all types of attacks: melee and magic.
- Debuffs - use summoner that reduce the Magic attack. Thadius Brute is very good because he can also reduce Health by 1.
- Health - High amount of HP is always very useful.
- Useful abilities - Use monsters with Void, Void Armor, Phase, Forcefield, Thorns, Magic Reflect, Retaliate and Blind abilities.
You can find below cards which I like to use for this ruleset. These card have all necessary abilities against Melee and Magic: high amount of HP, Magic reflect or Void and Heal.
Void, Void Armor and Repair
If you are expecting an magic attack, you can use a card that allows you to defend against it. Void and Void Armor are my favorite skills. Additionally, it is worth adding a card that allows you to Repair Armor, for example Scavo Hireling. He has not only Repair but also a Camuflage ability. Thanks to that, no one will be able to kill him until your tank dies. In this fight, I also used Cleanse ability to defend myself against Poison, which is the only attack that can hit directly my tank Health.

High amount of HP, Blind and lots of Support abilities
in this strategy, the most important is high HP and additional abilities that will keep the tank monster alive. The first three places are cards with a lot of HP and attack. The first two can withstand all melee attacks for a long time. Phase and Forcefield ability are in third place. Thanks to this, I can be sure that the front line is safe. There is a support card in the funds. I have both an Inspire ability that gives +1 to melle atack. In addition, he can attack from any position thanks to the magic attack. In the event that any other card dies, it can bring it back to life (Ressurect). The penultimate position belongs to Merdanelia Guradin, who heals HP and repairs Armor. At the far end is Deeplurker with the Opportunity ability to increase the power of the attack.

Double Sneak Fast Monsters with Inspire, Repair and Resurrect
This is one of my favorite strategies: double Sneak. Plus, I like to add a card with Inspire ability to make the attack even more powerful. The last two cards are Sneak monsters. They not only have the ability to attack from behind, but are also super fast. Thanks to this, they can kill the opponent before he has time to make any move. The tank slot is for a card with a large amount of Armor and HP. Thanks to this, I am sure that he is able to endure several rounds. Additionally, Merdaali Guradian supports the tank from the rear position. This is my favorite lineup. Especially because most of these cards are very cheap.
