Splinterlands Guide: Earthquake Ruleset!

This Splinterlands Guide explains the Earthquake Ruleset. Lots of newcomers have problem to win battle in this condition. Earthquake deals to all non-flying creatures 2 damage. How to avoid it? Which cards to use? And, how to increase winrate? I going to show you my favorite strategies to take up against it.

Earthquake - how it work?

You will take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round if you use Non-flying Monsters. If you monsters have armor, then it hit armor first. Once armor is removed it will damage you monster health. The mechanics is similar to melee and ranged attacks. Using monsters with Flying or summoners that give this ability to all your monsters like a Brighton Bloom is the trick to increase winrate in Earthquake Ruleset.

If you cannot choose such monsters, it is recommended to use monsters that have high HP, high damage or high armor. Shield plays also a very important role, as it reduces the damage. Using Brighton Bloom as summoner can help you in this Ruleset. This is rare summoner from Dice edition (picture below).

Remember! Your main objective in a Earthquake ruleset is to survive on the battlefield longer than your opponent. Sometimes easy strategy like high HP or flying monsters can win the battle.

Flying monsters from Chaos Legion Edition

These are also some cards I like to play in the Earthquake ruleset. Why? Because they have Flying ability:

• Flying - Has an increased chance of evading +25% of Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability. It also ignores damage in Earthquake Ruleset.

If you have one of these card then it is worth to use it.

High amount of Health Point (HP) and attack - basic strategy

I recommend to use monsters with high amount of Health and attack if you don't have flying monster. If you have both then it is much better.

Extra Armor strategy

Armor is useful when monsters don't have flying ability. It can save you one or even two rounds of earthquake.

Remember! Earthquake hit armor first,so choose monster that have high amount of armor. It increase your survability!

You can see at the picture below monsters with +2 armor. They gained extra armor from Protect ability:

• Protect - All friendly Monsters gain +2 Armor

Heal Up - HP regeneration

In this startegy the most important are abilities Heal, Tank Heal, or Triage.If you mix all of them together then even your backline monsters can survive the earthquake damage. Heal restores 1/3 of a monster's max health. If your monster that has 11 HP then he can heal more than earthquake can hit.

• Heal - Restores 1/3 of the max health, rounded down.
• Tank Heal - Restores 1/3 of the Monster max health in the first position each round
• Triage - Heals the friendly back-line Monster that has taken the most damage. Heal is max health divided by 3, rounded down. Minimum is 2.

I always use Tank Heal ability to keep my tank alive. The best monster are with Heal ability but not everyone have them. If I have more mana to use then I want to use Triage. This is not so simple in Earthquake because every monster on the field is immediately getting hit with Earthquake damage.

Speed can win the battle

This startegy is very simple. You need to use fast monsters, which will kill your opponent before earthquake kills you. Speed always plays an important role in all of Splinterlands battles. If your opponent is dead then he cannot attack anymore. The fastest strong attacking monsters can be found in Water Splinter. High HP, high Attack and Speed boosts can help you win.
