I tried Grund on the battlefield that offers a special ability and its a good support in anywhere in any team.

Double Strike: Monsters with Double Strike attacks twice each round.

This is a melee attack monster which may not attack from any position in normal but it can attack from any positions having some special abilities like sneak, opportunity, reach (I don't remember the rest but there should be more). Its special ability allows it to attack twice each round and this special ability can become a great asset for battles.

Let's get to the battle.

Here's the battle link if you wish to check.

Choosing Monsters

My TeamOpponent's Team
GrundFerox Defender
Oaken BehemothAntoid Platoon
BrownieDisintegrator
Venari ScoutHorny Toad
NilRadiator Scorcher
NilDumacke Orc

I created my team selecting four monsters and my opponent created their team selecting six monsters where I used earth element and my opponent used fire element.

Choosing Scarred Llama Mage as the summoner, I used four melee attack monsters and all of them had some special abilities that allows them to do something special like Grund could attack twice for the double strike ability, Oaken Behemoth can attack from the second position for reach ability and magic attacks hit this Unit's armor before its health for void armor ability, Brownie increases the speed of all friendly monsters by 1, Venari Scout ay attack from any position and will target the enemy unit with the lowest health for opportunity ability.

The Battle

All my melee attackers (all I chose was melee attackers for the ruleset that allows only melee attackers) were blessed with two extra health each and last stand ability from my summoners buff and my summoner would cleanse all debuffs from the friendly monster in the first position. And for my opponent's summoners buff, all opponent monsters got one additional melee damage and one additional health.

Brownie increased the speed of all my monsters by 1, Ferox Defender added +2 armor to all opponent monsters and Disintegrator reduced the melee attack of my Grund and Oaken Behemoth by 1 and my summoner cleansed it and gave back the melee attack to my Grund only.

All my opponent monsters had good armor stats which was a nice move with the ruleset where only melee attackers can be chosen. My Oaken Behemoth had two attacks, one magic and another melee. Although magic attackers can't be used in this battle, I could do this just because this monster has melee damage as well. Well, my Oaken Behemoth first attacked the opponent's first monster and damaged two health with he magic damage and one armor with the melee damage.

Then my Grund damaged four more armor of the same opponent monster with the first attack and damaged the rest of the armor with the second attack as it attacks twice. Then my Venari Scout attacked the opponent's Dumacke Orc, the opponent monster reduced the whole damage for shield ability and my monsters were done attacking then.

There were so many monsters in the opponent team but only one could attack as all others can't attack from their position for being melee attackers and I see the opponent team did a mistake not using Horny Toad at the second position otherwise it'd be able to attack as well as it has reach ability.

So, only Ferox Defender took its chance and damaged two health of my Grund. Then my Oaken Behemoth damaged three health of the Ferox Defender leaving it with three health portions and then my Grund attacked and killed it with its first attack and gave me the first kill after all this time. Then my Grund did its second attack and damaged the armor of Antoid Platoon.

My Venari Scout failed to damage anything of Dumacke Orc again.

Now my Oaken Behemoth damaged two health of the opponents Antoid Platoon with the magic attack and then my Grund killed this opponent monster and now the opponent's Horny Toad can attack as it reached the second position and has reach ability. And both Disintegrator and Horny Toad damaged some health portions of my Grund.

Then Oaken Behemoth and Grund gave me the third kill and the fourth at the same time as my Grund killed Disintegrator with the first attack and killed Horny Toad with the second attack as it attacks twice. Now that the Disintegrator died, my Oaken Behemoth got back its melee damage and killed the next opponent monster using both melee and magic damage.

There was Dumacke Orc, the last opponent monster who had shield ability that reduces melee damage by 50% so my Grund could only damage the three armor of this opponent monster with the double strike and my Venari Scout still couldn't damage anything of this opponent monster. Then I was about to lost my Grund by the melee damage of the opponent monster but somehow that was a missed attack and my Grund was saved and my Oaken Behemoth took the shot with magic damage and gave me the last kill.

So, what do you think of the double strike ability of Grund and about my play?
