Winning my first Splinterlands battle

in #hive-1332316 hours ago

Today, I began a new journey of enjoying the hive blockchain. I played and won my first battle. That victory sounds so good but it wasn't as easy as it sounds. My interest in the game is as far back as February 2024 when I started creating art on Hive. The characters on Splinterlands are so stunning and raised the bar for my art creativity. I had to go to upskill so I could contribute something more meaningful.

I'm happier that I am not only getting to contribute my art products to the community, I now enjoy playing the game after several hours of watching the tutorial video and reading updates from other players.

My feeling of first-ever victory was nothing short of exhilarating. This is me moving from curiosity to confidence, from just testing the waters to realizing that this is a game worth diving deeper into. Now, I’m ready to go all in, buy the Spellbook, and contribute more to the game. But first, let me share how it all happened.

Stepping Into the Arena: My First Battle

Here is the battle link.

Like many beginners, I started with the free-to-play version of Splinterlands. At first, everything seemed overwhelming, that is, havign a short time todecide which Summoners to pick as each opens up a new set of other cards.

As the battle began, I carefully selected my lineup. Tarsa, the Fire Summoner, caught my attention, boosting my team’s melee attack and health. I paired it with Tenyii Striker, Xenith Monk, Antoid Platoon, Djinn Apprentice. With a bit of my "novice" thinking, I was ready. I nervously hit the "battle" button as I sat back to watch the match.

The Moment of Victory

The match started, and immediately, the two teams started exchanging blows. Tenyii Striker and Djinn Apprentice did the most attack. At some point I was thinking why I should have selected another card for the fight, but as the rounds unfolded, I watched as my opponent’s cards fell one by one. The funny part is that some of my cards misssed attacks from enemies. I don't know how they managed to do that. Then, the final blow landed.

Victory!

This is me winning my first battle. I mean the very first.

This win wasn’t just about winning a match. I had some time to reflect on the ingenuity of the game developers. So interesting that you just stack cards and it turns into an animated video battle. I see there is need for knowledge, patience, and adaptability to enjoy the game.

With winning my first battle, I am motivated to improving my deck so that I can experiment with different Summoners, and compete for rewards. I noticed my present level gave restrictions. I don't just want to play, I want to be a part of the Splinterlands ecosystem.

I think aslo that my playing the game will also inspire me to get more creative when sharing my art piece on the splinterlands character.

To my fellow beginners, don't stop learning. If you’re new to Splinterlands and wondering if it’s worth it, trust me, I think it is. My first battle wins have shown me that this game is about learning, strategizing, and improving.

So, what’s next for me?

  • Buying the Spellbook
  • Experimenting with new battle strategies
  • Working towards bigger wins and rewards
  • Creating more art entries.

I’m ready for the next stage of my Splinterlands adventure and I hope to see you on the battlefield!
