Hello, friends! Yesterday another round in Guild Brawl where I play as PIZZA 2 The Deep Dish ended, and this time I won 5 battles out of 7, for which I got 415 Merits.
So, in the first battle my opponent and I chose the Water element and the same summoners, but completely different strategies. He focused on ranged attacks and Venari Wavesmith shield defense, while I decided to play melee and my main cards were Isgald Vorst Gladiator, Wave Runner, and Serpen of Eld.
Gladiator quickly increased my parameters, so I was happy to miss my opponent, and I won pretty easily.
In the second game with Earthquake, I picked Isgald Vorst again, hoping she'd do some decent damage before she went out, but thanks to a great card selection with Sneak and Opportunity abilities, my gladiator was very quickly left alone and defeated :(
In Fire elemental battles, I'm glad when my mana count allows me to use Molten Ogre and Chimney Wallstop Gladiator combos. The first one lowers the opponent's attacks, the second one powerfully pumps up his parameters and becomes an ultimatum fighter, practically single-handedly destroying the enemy's reserves.
Very happy with this fight :)
Recently got Ajax Lightfoot Archer Gladiator into my deck, and this round was a great enabler against Death Elemental decks. On top of that, my opponent got crafty and put Cursed Windeku in the first position, whose ability to return melee damage is becoming a real problem.
However, it all worked out in my favor, and it was nice to see my Chaos Knight and Venari Crystalsmith working together.
However, my longtime favorite in the Life deck is Captain Katie. A powerful mage who, being well protected on both sides, is a very dangerous ranged card.
I'm definitely lucky that my opponent chose a few expensive cards over a few cheap ones, or he'd have had a chance to give me a hard time.
But it also happens that even being well-defended Captain Katie doesn't help. For example, in this fight my opponent chose a nice combo of Silent Sha-Vi, Life Sapper, and Lira The Dark, which broke my defense pretty quickly.
Even though my gladiator's parameters were a bit off, my opponent's ranged attacks were pretty effective!
And in the last game I got the chance to play as Fire again, and my mana allowed me to add a few powerful ranged cards to my favorite combo of Molten Ogre and Chimney Wallstop - Lava Launcher, Pyromancer and the very rare Spirit Miner.
The melee parameters boosted by the Wizard are fantastic, so it's no wonder my gladiator pulled most of the fight on himself :)
Was happy to share the experience and looking forward to the next round (and buying a new Gladius Case)!
