Hello fellow players of Splinterlands!
The prices of cards have dropped quite a lot if we compared to what it was a few months ago. Therefore it is a great opportunity to purchase cards, and reward cards are in fact extremely cheap and yet they have interesting abilities that many might not really take note of. In my opinion reward cards are easy to level as they are cheap and they are useful to have in handy.
In this post we will go through a few cards which are really cheap and at the same time value for money! The analysis begins with using the peakmonster market to pick out the cheapest cards in terms of BCX and CP per Cost Ratio. My opinion is that if the card is useful and has excellent CP Cost ratio then it is always a good buy.
By arranging based on the CP Cost Ratio:
We see a few cards that are really cheap and worth buying not only for the CP but for the abilities. We will be looking at cards that costs at most 5 USD and most likely might even be cheaper as most of us playing will have a few of those cards already!
Note for Best Prices, Use BIDS and do not rush!
Normally it might be good to purchase at the end of season rewards as that is usually when extra reward cards are obtained and dumped on the market. Nevertheless by putting in a bid, usually the bidder is not rushed. However take note that bid only uses DEC (even though the Bid price is in USD, DEC will be deducted)
Before making the Bids, do compare with other bidders and you can check at what price points are the bids were previously filled (indicated by the partial sign)
Gargoya Lion
This card being a Neutral Card makes this a tank that you can always rely on for all splinters. At level 5 it gains Void which is really useful as this card also has flying ability so this is very useful for "Earthquake" ruleset. This card is recommended for the Silver Tier.
Gargoya Devil
This monster have closed range and deathblow. At level 4 which is useable in the Silver Tier, the deathblow ability is available. Deathblow does double damage when the opponent has only one enemy left. The drawback is that the card has low health points, nevertheless this being a neutral card is a useful addition to all splinters.
Pelacor Deceiver
Personally I don't feel this is a must have. It has good speed and +2 melee, and flying in the bronze and silver tier, so this would be useful for Earthquake ruleset and Super Sneak. This has great health points for 5 mana! At least get it to level 3.
Venari Bonesmith
This is one of the first cards that I bought to get it to Level 4. The Poison and life leech simply rocks. Even though the magic attack is only +1 it is good enough.
Venari Wavesmith
With Alric not freely accessible and with the new water summoner, Kelya Frendul, the wavesmith has lost some of it's shine, but it is still a useful card to have giving all monsters armor to increase survivability. Get at least 1 card is good enough. Plain cheap nowadays compared to the inflated prices months ago!
Pelacor Conjurer
This card gains magic reflect at level 4 so this is useable for Silver tier. Very useful as anti magic cards if coupled with healers from the life deck, and Dax Paragon for amplify for example. The price of this is also really cheap and with flying and good speed, this card dodges attack rather well while reflecting magic attacks. Quite often we can see this a tank.
Pelacor Bandit
This gains Sneak and Flying at level 1, so this low mana card is useful for a water melee deck. I prefer to level it up to at least level 4 for the +2 melee attack. It costs only around USD 1.2 for a level 4 card.
Venari Crystalsmith
Very useful for heal intensive deck. Gains heal at level 1 so this card is useful for low levels, and for silver, it retains it's usefulness though if the user wants extra attack level it up to level 4 around 4 USD.
Naga Assassin
This card is useful when it is leveled to at least lvl 4 for the backfire ability. Very nice to use when paired with summoners like Brighton Bloom, as this increases the chance for "Backfire" to trigger when the card is placed at the back. This card costs around 3 USD, useful for low mana battle due to the cheap costs, also good against sneak attacks.
Djinn Chwala
At level 2 this card gains 3 melee attack! This card has thorns and it's well worth purchasing and levelling. Enrage is only unlocked for use in the Gold Tier though.
Uraeus
A level 2 Uraeus is useful for both Bronze and Silver tiers. Why lvl 2, because it has 2 attack at level 2 and decent speed at a cheap price of USD 2.8
Tier Summary
Bronze
Pelacor Deceiver at Lvl 3 - 0.5 USD!
Venari Wavesmith at lvl 1 - 0.2 USD! This use to costs 5 USD a piece long ago
Venari Crystalsmith at lvl 1 - 0.15 USD!
Djinn Chwala at lvl 2 - 3 USD
Uraeus at lvl 2 - 2.8 USD
Silver
Gargoya Lion to Level 5 (for Void) - 2 USD
Gargoya Devil to Level 4 (for Deathblow) - 3 USD
Venari Bonesmith to level 4 (for Poison) - 3.5 USD
Pelacor Conjurer to level 4 (magic reflect) - 1 USD
Pelacor Bandit at level 4 (fast sneak) - 1 USD
Naga Assassin at level 4 (backfire, low mana) - 3 USD
Gold
I do not have the resources to play Gold competitively but a few notable reward cards for Gold will be..
Venari Seedsmith - Gains poison at level 5 - 5 USD
Twilight Basilisk - Stun at level 5 - 5 USD
Pelacor Mercenary - Heal at level 6 - 3.5 USD
My Favourite Cards
Venari Bonesmith for the Poison at level 4,
Pelacor Conjurer for the Magic Reflect at Level 4
Djinn Chwala at level 2 or above
Cards that I do not usually use
Venari Heatsmith, though the amplify might be useful but I don't see much thorns or magic reflect in the fire splinter.
Exploding rats, low health, useful perhaps for the ruleset where all health are equal
