Question: Can You Beat Kitty When Using Obsidian??
The age old saying "You Pay For What You Get" meaning the more your willing the spend on something the potentially better and longer lasting that thing will last! So when asked is it right to invest in "BYZANTINE KITTY" you'd think from the cost and using that analogy that "Yes" it costs $684 per BCX so must be good! And you wouldn’t be wrong this card is very very good and will dramatically help increase your win ratio over others who cant or wont invest that money, even to rent Kitty your looking $24 per day! So does that mean unless your willing to spend you cant compete? Not necessarily...
Let Me Explain...
Currently you can buy "Obsidian" for $4.09 per BCX for Standard copy or $31.85 for GF! lets say your willing to buy the GF you will be able to match off the level of monsters that a level 1 Kitty can use, granted "Obsidian" has +1 Magic and "Kitty" has +2 Speed, Heal & True Strike...know one said this was going to be easy..just possible! With the right set of rules and mana this is indeed possible meaning you can beat that $684 card with a $31.85 or even $20 if you standard and get to level 2...Lets be honest you could max out "Obsidian" for $469 meaning you'd have access to a wide variety of levelled up monsters to use.
That being said I was able to beat "Kitty" with a level 2 "Obsidian" due to the fact I had the rule set in my favour and a decent mana cost, I will link the battle below and screen shot the cards below:
Conclusion:
So you can beat the higher priced cards in this game if you setup in a way that will favour your deck, now I know this is easier said than done (Legally) but it just goes to show that you dont need to pump a ton of money into this game to progress. That being said, getting in early on card like "Kitty" or using current "Chaos" cards as an example "Quix" I believe will be very beneficial in the long term, You'd easily see a 10x ROI on current "Quix" price of $28 even more!! So get in on these Summoners while the market is spread and reap the rewards in the future whilst still being able to benefit from the use of these NFTs now.
