Hello Hive
I welcome everyone to another edition of the splinterlands battle mage secrets. This week have the ruleset "Back to basics" as the theme. Before I proceed today, I want to thank everyone who takes out time from their busy schedule to read and support my weekly posts. The spl game is always ready to welcome new players and reading the weekly battle mage secrets is one way to help new players understand the rulesets in the game and how to build a strong strategy behind them. Here is this week's back-to-the-basics announcement post for people who may wish to participate.
Back to Basics
Back to basics ruleset in the spl game simply takes away all abilities from monsters allowing them to battle only with their weapon but no ability. This withdrawal of abilities does not include the stats from summoners. For this reason, most back-to-basics victory is determined by the summoner in play. This ruleset also favors the magic monsters the most because they are the only type of monsters that can attack from any position they find themselves. Melee and ranged monsters are disadvantaged as melee can only attack when they are in the front line and ranged can attack when they aren't in the front line.
Strategically, there are summoners most suitable for this ruleset. First, since magic monsters are the most favored, player tends to make use of them more. It is now the job of a good summoner to limit the damage of the opponent's monsters. For the presented battle, it was a void armor summoner going against a phase summoner. For what it's worth, these are two brilliant choices of summoners and I recommend both for this ruleset. To explain further, the void armor is nice for this ruleset because it forces all weapons to go through armor before getting to the monster's health. Phase on the other hand can cause serious upset for the attacking side as their chances of missing the target are drastically increased.
Strategic Selection and Positioning of Team
The team selection in this battle was done strictly based on the back-to-basics rulesets
GRANDMASTER RATHE
As I have mentioned before, the majority of players facing this ruleset opt for the choice of magic monsters, to curtain the effect of these magic weapons, this summoner which offers the stat of void armor and protects its monsters with armor was deemed suitable. The use of this summoner means all attacks will have to take down the monster's armor before accessing the health. To enjoy the effect of this summoner, one can include monsters with heavy armor of theirs.
EVELYN AUVERA
The monster Auvera, had to be used in the front position. Auvera is a monster with no weapon of its own. It has to be used in the front position because it has a good number of armor that with the void armor ability, will give the enemy monsters a tough time before being eliminated.
SOUL FIEND
The fiend families are more like bonus monsters due to their zero mana cost. In my lineup, it came in the second position. Although it might not be able to battle, it can take hits and delay attacks on fighting monster
MAGI OF CHAOS
DJINN RENOVA
TEMPORAL MASTER
TIME MAGE
These four monsters did the attacking with their different weapon size. Magi of Chaos with the number of weapons came in at the third position with a moderate size of health. Djinn Renova shares the same health size with Magi but it battled with lesser magic weapons. Temporal Master and Time Mage took the second to last and last position respectively. They also contributed based on their magic weapon size.
