Hello Hive
I bring you greetings this Sunday morning. It is another battle mage secret edition and this time, we will find out the secret behind the fire and regret ruleset. Who fires, and who regrets? Before I dive straight to the discussion, remember to join the game, participate in the weekly challenge and share your strategies with us all. And, if you happen to be a new participant, there are some guidelines you should follow. Visit the weekly announcement post to get yourself acquainted to the guidelines. For simplicity, this week's announcement post can be found here. Let's talk about the ruleset Fire & Regret.

Ruleset; Fire & Regret

When we play under the Fire & Regret ruleset, there is one thing that comes to mind, that is, ranged monsters are disadvantaged as they regrets their attack each time they fire. By the game's definition, the fire & regret ruleset is such that gives all monsters on the battlefield the return fire ability. What does this return fire ability do? Personally, I could to this ruleset as anti ranged monsters because when a ranged monster under this ruleset attacks an opponent, it gets back a portion of the damage inflicted on the attacked monster. It is also worthy to note that the higher the ranged weapon used on the attack, the higher the return fire damage. For the reason, melee and magic monsters becomes the favorite for this ruleset. Although, this doesn't stop anyone from using ranged monsters for battle just as the presented battled houses majority of the ranged kind of monster.

Strategic Team selection and Positioning

Knowing fully well what return fire ability does to ranged monsters, one could ask why did the opponent team field so many of them? I av got a short answer for that, they loves losing or do not have the appropriate monsters for such kind of battle. Let's take a dive into the battle strategy putting into considerations the other two ruleset that accompanied the stated one. According to the other two rulesets, ranged and magic monsters have the snipe ability and all healing is deactivated from the battlefield. Now, Let's discuss the team.

FRANZ RUFFMANE
The battle present is from the last brawl. What is means is that gladiator monsters are allowed and using this summoner opens room for more gladiator monsters. The summoner offers one armor stat and allows the use of gladiator monsters. The mana cost is however not the best but for a high mana cap battle, no problem at all.

DRYBONE BARBARIAN
This monster is a perfect defensive monster for such battle. One thing that makes it thick is the fact that it's a heavy hitter with 5 melee weapon expandable on health damage to up to 9 due to its enrage ability. What this means is that its target either have armor protect or shield ability or they risk elimination at just one hit.

VENARI MARKSRAT
Things with this monster is quite simple. Just die for the greater good. The good coming from this monster is the martyr ability and as a non melee monster being positioned in the forward line makes it the first target for monsters with snipe ability. This is the strategy in play, its death it meant to straighten the gladiator monster directly behind it which is more trusted to bring success to the team.

CAPTAIN KATIE
The magic bloodlust monster was the hidden secret to the success. Having bloodlust makes it very dangerous because its stats increases each time it eliminates a monster. Having monster with martyr ability die near it also help increase its stat. As a matter of fact, the opponent made it quite easy for Katie by using monsters with very low health which can get eliminated on one hit.

DJINN RENOVA
Do not under estimate the power of extra one health. With the strengthen ability of this monster, all friendly monster got an additional one health added to theirs. It's also a magic monster which saves it from return fire. When you take a look at the health arrangement, you will notice it followed a descending order pattern. This is because of the snipe ruleset included in the battle.

AJAX LIGHTFOOT
This is another bloodlust monster used in the battle but the problem is, it's a victim of return fire and its stat happens to increase, it will affect it just the same way it affects the opponent. Its health also follows the descending arrangement deployed in the battle strategy

GARGOYA SCRAPPER

Scrapper was included to complete the mana cap and to serve as first target for monsters that attacks from behind.
