Having a more powerful deck in Splinterlands is the dream of almost all players and undoubtedly powerful monsters help us a lot in winning battles, but they alone may not be enough to win the battle. Frankly, it is much more important to know the features of the cards well, to team up with good strategies, to make our team stronger in battles, to make a difference with our strategy, and to put forward a better strategy than our opponent in order to win the battle. I give great importance to strategy in battles, so when building a team, I take care to determine a better strategy according to the ruleset of the battle. In order to determine better strategies, first of all, it is necessary to know the characteristics of the cards well, as well as examining the last 5 battles of the opponents and understanding the rulesets of the battle well. In short, if I know my opponent well and know the characteristics of the cards in my deck better, and if I understand the ruleset of the battle well, I can form a team with much stronger strategies and make my team more effective in battles. Obviously, with a good strategy, it is possible to win many battles, even the most difficult ones.
Today I shared with you one of my very challenging and very interesting battles, I hope you like it.
Close Range
Keep Your Distance
Armored Up
Mana Cap 52
- Close Range rule means Ranged attacks may be used in the first position in battles.
- Keep Your Distance rule means Monsters with Melee attack may not be used in battles.
- Armored Up rule means all Monsters have 2 Armor in addition to their normal Armor stat.
Before starting the battle, I reviewed the last 5 battles of the opposing player and they had very strong cards. Considering the ruleset of the battle, I could predict that I would be fighting against Level 5 BORTUS in this battle. BORTUS is a summoner who reduces the Magic Attack of all enemy Magic Attack Monsters by -1. Those who prefer BORTUS usually put up a powerful defense on the front line, and considering that the opponent's cards are more powerful than my cards, I needed to determine a better strategy in this battle. According to the battle's ruleset, we couldn't use Melee Attack Monsters in this battle, and it wasn't possible for me to have a powerful defense with Ranged Attack Monsters. So it was more logical for me to prefer Magic Attack Monsters. But I knew it would be very difficult to destroy the opposing team's front line, so I had to come up with a better strategy. I thought Chaos Dragon with Scattershot and Blast Abilities in this battle would be of great help to me in this battle. That's why I believed that I could make a difference in this battle by making a powerful defense in my team's front line and putting the Chaos Dragon in the last position and I would have a better chance of winning the battle, and I strategized accordingly.
Since I will be teaming up with Magic Attack Monsters in this battle, I chose Delwyn Dragonscale as the Summoner so that they can attack more powerful. Delwyn Dragonscale gives +1 Magic Attack to all friendly Magic Attack Monsters, so the Magic Attack Monsters on my team could attack targets more powerfully.
Some time ago, Daria Dragonscale nearly lost her twin brother Delwyn to the Burn that had stricken so many of the scaled. She would have lost him completely, but at his deathbed she hired the services of a dark sorcerer who transferred his soul into a special Heliosoulstone. While he was suspended inside the stone, Daria traveled to the Earth Splinter, where she visited the Flesh Golems in the root of the Elder Tree. With their help, she created a new Golem from fleshy scraps. Delwyn’s soul was transferred into the new Golem, and Daria had her brother back… forever. Source
First of all, I needed to put up a powerful defense on the front line of the team, so I added Baakjira, who has the Void Ability and the Slow Ability at level 1, to my team and put it in the first position.
- Void Ability : Reduced damage from Magic attacks.
- Slow Ability : Reduces the Speed of all enemy Monsters.
Few had borne witness to the mighty Baakjira before the Chaos Legion arrived. Some believe that the void gates disturbed the polarity of the land and oceans, skewing the gravitational fields; others say it was simply another native of the Splinterlands come to defend their home. One thing is for certain however, when Baakjira breached the surface of the sea and his enormous body crashed back into the water, every man, beast and invader stopped what they were doing, in complete awe of such a wondrous sight.
Hailing from the deepest ocean in all of the World, the Delortane Trench, Baakjira, is one of a few remaining Baleenvast left, a monstrous whale so big that it dwarves everything else native to the Splinterlands, even the largest of dragons. They rarely stray from the safe depths of the Delortane Trench but on rare occasions fishermen have seen them breach for the mouthful of air that will last them an entire year before they need to breath again. Ancient maritime folklore says that seeing one of these beasts is supposed to bring you good fortune and bless you for the remainder of your voyage. Source
Even though Baakjira would be able to put up a powerful defense in the first position, it wouldn't be too hard to destroy, so I put Djinn Oshannus in the second position. Djinn Oshannus is a very powerful Monster with the Void Ability and the Phase Ability at level 2 that attacks the target with Magic Attacks. Djinn Oshannus can both defend strongly and attack targets powerfully. In some battles, it's really hard to destroy Djinn Oshannus.
- Void Ability : Reduced damage from Magic attacks.
- Phase Ability : Magic attacks can miss this Monster (using the same hit/miss calculation as for Melee and Ranged attacks).
Dawn of the Djinn 3 of 4 - The Djinn are angry at the way they were tricked by the Planet, but also appreciative that they can now enjoy this limited freedom, each trapped by natural forces. The Djinn possess powerful ancient magic of their own, which is now charged into the force of one element for each of them. The ancient demons of war are an awkward bunch to be chosen as a planetary defensive force, but they are also impressively capable of the job. As long as they are bound by the Planet, they will do its bidding. Whatever their would-be choices and allegiances, they will fight against the Chaos Legion to protect the sixth mana gate. Source
In this battle, I added River Nymph with the Cleanse Ability to my team so that the monster in the first position would not be affected by the negativity, and put her in the third position. River Nymph is a monster that can attack the target with Magic Attack and has the Cleanse Ability at level 1.
- Cleanse Ability : Removes all negative effects on the Monster in the first position on the friendly team.
River Nymphs inhabit the rivers of the Splinterlands. Shy and reclusive, they usually remain hidden beneath the water's surface. However, they have a strong respect for life, and they have been known to aid those in need. They are also fiercely protective of their homes and will defend it if it is threatened. Source
Runemancer Kye is a Monster that can attack the target with Magic Attacks and has the Flying Ability and the Life Leech Ability at level 1. The most important reason for adding Runemancer Kye to my team this battle was because she has the Life Leech Ability, and I put her in the fourth position. Runemancer Kye's Health increases every time she inflicts damage to the health of enemies thanks to her Life Leech Ability, if the first three monsters on my team were destroyed, Runemancer Kye could have quite high health when she took the first position. I thought this would give my team a huge advantage in a battle like this.
- Flying Ability : Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.
- Life Leech Ability : Monster's health increases each time it damages an enemy Monster's health in proportion to the damage dealt.
As a siren, Azura Kye loves spending her days in the sky and her nights deep beneath the waves. She is a third-generation Riftwatcher who grew up listening to her grandparent’s stories of the Chaos Legion’s invasion of their homeworld, Lemell.
Azura learned to fight at a young age and grew to become a renowned sorceress. She also has an incredible aptitude for runemancy and has developed a variety of mana-infused weapons and gadgets for her allies to employ in their fight against the Chaos Legion. On the battlefield, she has proven herself repeatedly, facing off against the Legion’s scouts on various realms and harassing their forces with clandestine, insurgent tactics. Once, she even single-handedly brought down a kraken.
Subsequently, she rose quickly through the ranks of the Riftwatchers. Time passed, and so too did the old guard. Azura was an obvious choice to replace them. Honored to follow in the footsteps of her predecessors, she now wears the mantle of Runemancer. She is a natural leader and a champion of the people, dedicating her life to stopping the Chaos Legion threat. Source
Merdaali Guardian has no attack power but is one of my favorite monsters due to her Tank Heal Ability. I added the Merdaali Guardian to my team without hesitation, as I thought a monster with Tank Heal Ability could be quite important in such a battle. In this battle, I put her in fifth position. The reason I put her in the fifth position is because it was very important to my strategy that she stays away from enemy attacks and that she is not destroyed.
- Tank Heal Ability : Restores a portion of the Monster in the first position's health each round.
The Merdaali Guardians are a noble group committed to protecting all sea life and do not pay much attention to the affairs of people and the land. They are graceful to behold, often adorning themselves with shining jewelry. They prefer pacifism to conflict and are adept at healing and helping others through their connection to magic. However, when the Chaos Legion came to the Splinterlands, they swore to use their magic to protect what they hold most dear.
Chaos Dragon is a really very powerful Monster that can attack targets with Magic Attacks and has the Flying Ability, the Scattershot Ability and the Blast Ability at level 2. While defending strongly in my team's front line in this battle, I thought that Chaos Dragon could destroy the opposing team's back line, so I added Chaos Dragon to my team. Frankly, Chaos Dragon had a big task in this battle, and I had full faith that it could handle this task. According to my strategy in this battle the Chaos Dragon was supposed to survive until the end of the battle so I put it in the last position.
- Flying Ability : Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.
- Scattershot Ability : Ranged and Magic attacks hit a random enemy target.
- Blast Ability : Does additional damage to Monsters adjacent to the target Monster.
The Chaos Realm has preyed upon many a world, opening rifts in time and space to invade the lands and take from its people. When they attacked Praetoria and the Splinterlands, it was first thought that the minions were compelled through the portal for their fear of the dark shade that lurked beyond the gate, the shadowed image of Uul. Eventually though, when the last of the armies stepped through, there came such a prodigious monster that at first, none could believe it was real. A nightmare dragged forth into reality.
As it flew through the spinning vortex, the Chaos Dragon let forth a violent shriek, so loud that it was felt in the far reaches of every Splinter. The people of Praetoria fell to their knees, terror taking the strength from their legs and the courage from their hearts. For an army of monsters can be fought, the land defended with righteous fervor. But when even the invading hordes are fleeing before such a beast, what hope can there be? The answer is none when the eater of worlds has arrived, the true devourer of existence.
Surely such a thing couldn’t be the puppet of Uul? How could anyone command a creature that has flown from one cosmos to another, feeding upon alien planets? But it was his most potent being, one that existed before time had conceived the very gift of life itself. Source
To be honest, the opposing player's strategy was much better than I expected. It was almost impossible for me to beat such a team without Chaos Dragon. The opposing team's total attack power was 14, and the opposing team had a Monster with the Magic Reflect Ability and 3 Monsters with the Void Ability. And my team's total attack power was 8.
- Magic Reflect : When hit with Magic damage, does reduced Magic damage back to the attacker.
- Void Ability : Reduced damage from Magic attacks.
Both teams' defense on the front line was quite good and there was a fierce battle on the battlefield. It was clear that the opposing team was very powerful and the opposing player's strategy was really good, but Chaos Dragon was in my team to upset all the opponent's plans. My strategy worked quite well in this battle, especially Chaos Dragon was really excellent and very effective in this battle. Chaos Dragon's attacks were so brutal, inflicting serious damage to the opposing team's back line and playing a major role in destroying them.
The battle lasted 12 rounds and my team managed to beat a very, very powerful team. Although the battle lasted for 12 rounds, when the battle was over, all the monsters on the opposing team were destroyed, while 4 monsters in my team were still alive. Honestly, all the monsters in my team were great in this battle, but Chaos Dragon stood out in this battle. Honestly, Chaos Dragon did not disappoint my trust in it and it really gave an excellent performance in this battle. It was my most exciting and most interesting battle in recent times and I am happy to have won such a battle. I recommend you to watch this wonderful and challenging struggle from the video or the battle link.
Of course, it is very important to have a strong deck to win the battles, but I can say that the strategy is much more important. When we use our deck with a good strategy, our team can be much more effective in battles. I attach great importance to strategy, so I can win many battles, even the most difficult ones. No matter how powerful the opposing team is, when I can form a team with a good strategy, it is not difficult to win the battle. In short, we can make our team more effective in battles with our strategies, and making a difference with powerful strategies is the way to victory.
What are your thoughts on the battle? I would be glad if you write your thoughts in the comments.
