Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!
With no more townhall coming this month as the SPL team will be taking a break for the winter season, we won't have as much update about their current work. That said, there are tiny tid bits of things that the team is sharing as on their X (Formerly known as Twitter) which if you haven't followed yet, be sure to follow them to get more news and they also hold different challenges where we can earn some prizes.
With the recent days, they reveal 3 new abilities as well as teased 2 new cards and in this post, were gonna take a look on them starting with the upcoming voucher card.
Lyra & Lorn's Upcoming Voucher Card
In just around 3 days by the writing of this post, the first voucher card, Mana Warden will no longer be available in the Voucher Shop. This means that, people only had until December 10 to buy Mana Warden. For those who don't know, this card is a 4- mana melee unit with both fire and life attribute and was the only card with the Shield Ward ability which gives the Shield ability on a unit that is in front of it. A single copy of this card cost 30 vouchers while to max this card, you will need 12,000 vouchers and by purchasing the card 25 at once gives a guarantee of a gold foil card.
Moving on, we do not have yet know what will be the next voucher card but there are few teases that gives us a hint of the cards, including it hiding behind the Splinterlands logo. We were also given with this poem, hinting us about the card and by analyzing it we can say that.
"In the shop where visions gleam,
Hidden powers weave a dream.
In death’s embrace, a menace prance,
Seek the rebirth of the dragon's dance."
- New voucher card is of a Dragon
Element. - New voucher card has the Rebirth
ability.
Furthermore, if we read through the line, "In death’s embrace, a menace prance", we can infer that after its death this card will activate an ability that could deal some sort of damage or debuff on the enemy team and surprisingly, this perfectly fits to the description of the Poison Burst 
ability which is one of the 3 new abilities that will soon come to the game and what I will talk about next.
New Card Abilities
We may not yet have the full picture of the next voucher card but what we have known so far is that there will be more abilities that are coming soon to the game and currently, 3 of them has been already shown to us but if much hunch is correct, I believe that there will be more. Anyways let us look on the new abilities.
- Poison Burst
"When defeated, 100% chance to apply Poison to the attacker and 50% chance to apply Poison on adjacent units. Poisoned units lose 2 health at the beginning of each round."
As I said above this could be one of the ability of the upcoming voucher card which will only be triggered once that the unit with this ability was defeated, applying Poison to the monster that defeats it and 50% chance to the adjacent units which can make it difficult to remove for multiple units without the help of Cleanse Rearguard.
- Shroud of Reflection Shield
"At the start of the battle, units adjacent to this unit gains the Reflection Shield ability."
This ability on the other hand could could be a game- changing ability as the current modern meta revolves the use of Eternal Tofu with its Thorns and Corrosive Ward and cards with Reflection Shield will be immune against the effects of those abilities. At the same time, it will be very useful during Explosive Weaponry, Briar Patch, Blood and Sunder, Fire & Regret and Counterspell ruleset.
- Untrainable
"Cannot be Weapon's Trained."
Rather than an ability, Untrainable was a debilitation which makes the non-damage unit that has this debilitation to not gain attack through Weapons Training but with how the previous debilitation cards work, the card that has this ability will have far greater stats and/or abilities in contrast with their mana cost. This was just a guess between my side but it could also be an ability that will be given to the next voucher card.
Hall of Legends Phase 5 Card Tease
Recently, I made a post about the Phase 4 Legends Promo Card which has just started its sale. Surprisingly, we got a tease of the upcoming rare promo card through @infidel1258 Youtube Livestreams while having a discussion with @blazekos as well as giving away cards and packs which I was lucky enough to win a card. Along with it blaze also have shown Warborn Shaman which will be the rare promo card for the final phase of the event.
This was one interesting card since it has the Ambush ability which will allow it to attack before round 1 starts along with Impede which will reduce the speed of the target, meaning if it was successful in its attack, it can reduce the speed of the target twice before the first round ends. At the same time, it has Void armor which means that magic attack will need to deplete its armor before they can damage its health. It becomes more interesting though since 2 of its other abilities are hidden. Could this also be new abilities? Maybe but if that's the case the recently revealed abilities does not add up since Untrainable is automatically disqualified as it only affect non-damage units while Poison Burst is more fitting on the next voucher card which would only leave us with Shroud of Reflection Shield.
Winterfest Skin Tease
If you remember, last month, we also got skins for Halloween that were applied on chest, the battle page and some of our beloved cards. Apparently, Splinterlands team will also set new skins for the Winterfest and the reason why I included it on this post is because this also serves as a dryrun for the for the Glamour next year. The earliest time that the Winterfest skins to be implemented will be by the next maintenance window coming this Tuesday.
Final Thoughts
