Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!
The Phase 4 of Hall of Legends has finally ended with a total of 459,343,000 worth of DEC and credits spent, shy away of the 600 million DEC that SMC was paid to make promo cards within 5 Phases as per the Proposal #155 which makes the event around 140 million DEC short if we do not account all the sales from the Auction. That said, we still have 1 phase remaining which could help the event get closer to break even and recently, we got the full reveal of the promo cards for the final phase. Not only that, the new voucher card was finally available in the voucher shop.
In this post, I want to talk about the upcoming phase 5 promo cards as well as the new voucher card that has recently been available to the voucher shop.
Hall of Legends Phase 5 Cards
Edition | Rebellion (Promo) |
---|---|
Mana Cost | 10 |
Element | Waterm, Death |
Rarity | Rare |
Card Type | Magic |
Abilities | Lvl 1- Void Armor Lvl 2- Impede Lvl 4- Ambush Lvl 6- Poison Lvl 8- Heal |
Max Stats | 3 Magic 3 Speed 4 Armor 8 Health |
As a rare card, Warborn Shaman needs 115 BCX to have it at max level and at max level, it will cost for 345k DEC. It is a dual-element splinter with both Water and Death attribute with a max of 3 magic damage which it gets starting at level 1 as well as the Void Armor ability which prevents magic attacks to penetrate health as long as there is an armor while at level 2, it gets Impede that reduces the speed of the target for each successful attack. What's interesting is at level 4, it gets the Ambush ability that will allow Warborn Shaman to attack during the Ambush round which means it can potentially reduce the damage of the target twice. What's more is that at level 6, it gets Poison too which make that will reduce the health of the afflicted unit every turn. At max level, it gains Heal which allows for it to sustain the damage it receives.
As it was magic unit, it can shine as a tank during Wands Out and Keep Your Distance ruleset and since it has heal, playing it during Noxious Fumes would allow it to sustain that it gets by being poisoned.
Keep Your Distance | Monsters with Melee attack may not be used in battles. |
Wands Out | Only monsters with Magic attack may be used in battles. |
Noxious Fumes | All Monsters start the battle Poisoned. |
As for the summoner, Warborn Shaman can gain additional magic damage when used together with Lorkus and granting the Affliction and Life Leech ability during the tactics stage will greatly synchronizes with this cards abilities. On the other hand, Elias Max Pruitt can give it an additional armor an by granting it the Armored Strike and Piercing during the tactics stage will allows it to use its armor to attack the opponent. Nidhoggr could also be a potential match for Warborn Shaman since it can give the Blast ability so now, not only it can attack twice during round 1, it can also inflict damage on units that were adjacent to its target.
On this battle, we can see how Warborn Shaman has attacked Executiner Kraan during the Ambush Stage, giving it the Poison debuff and reduce its speed with Impede makiing it down to 4 speed. Because of this, my team already has gained the advantage against the opponent even before the start of round 1.
Edition | Rebellion (Promo) |
---|---|
Mana Cost | 6 |
Element | Fire, Earth |
Rarity | Legendary |
Card Type | Magic |
Abilities | Lvl 1- Tank Heal Lvl 2- Shroud of Reflection Shield Lvl 3- Affliction |
Max Stats | 3 Magic 3 Speed 2 Armor 4 Health |
On the other hand, Fizbo the Fabulous was a Legendary card meaning, it needs 11 BCX in order to have a max level card and with 50k DEC per copy, one will need 550k DEC to have a max copy of the card. It is also another dual- element card with both Fire and Earth attribute that can use magic attack. It also has a max of 3 magic damage and at level 1, it has the Tank Heal ability which is for the longest time, an ability that has been absent to fire cards with Beetle Queen as the only one with this ability. At level 3, it gains Affliction which is an ability that prevents the target to be healed. What's more is that at level 2 it gains Shroud of Reflection Shield which is a new ability.
Shroud of Reflection Shield is a new support ability that will give adjacent units the Reflection Shield ability. With that, monsters with Reflection Shield becomes immune to Blast, Corrosive Ward, Thorns, Return Fire, and Magic Reflect.
In terms of rulesets, having this card could be relevant Noxious Fumes ruleset where it could heal its allies. It could be also be playable on Keep Your Distance and Wands Out ruleset as a magic unit that can attack regardless of its position.
Noxious Fumes | All Monsters start the battle Poisoned. |
Keep Your Distance | Monsters with Melee attack may not be used in battles. |
Wands Out | Only monsters with Magic attack may be used in battles. |
Being it a magic unit, Fizbo the Fabulous can gain additional magic damage when used together with Obsidian and Lorkus.
Upon trying out Fizbo the Fabulous, it was able to give the Reflection Shield ability to both Riklauniman and Venka the Vile, inflicting making it immune to the Thorns and Corrosive Ward of the opponent. At the same time, having the capability to heal units makes this card vital to the fire team as well to the earth team.
New Voucher Card
Edition | Rebellion (Promo) |
---|---|
Mana Cost | 4 |
Element | Dragon |
Rarity | Legendary |
Card Type | Default |
Abilities | Lvl 1- Untrainable Lvl 1- Slow Lvl 2- Poison Burst Lvl 3- Weaken Lvl 4- Rebirth |
Max Stats | 4 Speed 4 Armor 6 Health |
The newest voucher card, Ulfga the Blighted was a legendary card which can only be bought using voucher. Each copy cost 1500 vouchers meaning, to max this card , one will need to have 16,500 vouchers. This is a non- damage unit so it does not have damage but unlike other non- damage cards Weapon's Training will not work for this card as it has the Untrainable debilitation. However, at level 2, it gains the Poison Burst ability which inflicts 100% poison to the card the defeats it as well as 50% chance to poison the units adjacent into it. It was also the 3rd card that was given the Rebirth ability which means it can self- resurrect.
Untrainable is a debilitation which makes non-damage units to be unable to be trained. This means that even if we place it next to a weapon's training card, it will not be able to receive any attack.
Poison Burst on the other hand, was a new ability that can poison the attacker as well as the units adjacent into it upon the death of the card. This makes Ulfga the Blighted more of a sacrificial card where its merits comes with its defeat.
As it was a 4- mana card, this makes it good for Little League ruleset specially since low mana cards usually has low health as well as on Born Again ruleset so that it can use Poison Burst ability the third time but aside from that, the utility of this card can be very vast if your aim is to Poison the opponent.
Little League | Only monsters & summoners that cost 4 mana or less may be used in battles. |
Born Again | All monsters have the Rebirth ability. |
As for the summoner, the best card to come along with Ulfga the Blighted was Lily Shieldpaw since it can hide the rest of the monsters with Camouflage, focusing the attack on Ulfga the Blighted then follow it up with cards that have the Resurrect ability to trigger the Poison Burst ability as much as you can.
By defeating Ulfga the Blighted, Kulu Swimhunter was afflicted with Poison as well as the 50% Poison chance works on Sultry Barmaid. Meanwhile, with Ulfga the Blighted resurrected, it can once again have triggered its Poison Burst ability once it was defeated.
Final Thoughts
With this new cards coming into the game, the game's meta will change once again. Specially for the fire team which for the longest time has lacked the tank healer. I did not participate with the 4th phase but I think I would with this one and hopefully, have increase my rank to be on the top 500 and acquire one of the titles that will be given.
Thank you and see you at the next post.
