Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!
One huge part of Splinterlands as a card game that distinguishes itself from other trading card games is its Levelling System. This system involves the combining multiple copies of the same cards in order to have a higher level card, gaining additional stats or abilities at the end of the process.
In this post, I will walk you trough the process of the card levelling system and how it will help you to have a more competitive deck for this week's Community Engagement Challenge #SplinterlandsCardGuide.
Combine Your Cards To Make Them Stronger
The card levelling system involves the combining of multiple copies of cards with the same name and when they reached the required number of copies of cards to combine, that card will either have an increase in stats or gain new abilities that will allow them to be more competitive in the battle. For instance, at level 4, Mar Toren Trader requires 30 BCX of the same card which increase its health by 2 and gains it the Headwinds ability while its collection power becomes 150.
This process of combining cards though was IRREVERSIBLE and the cards that were combined will no longer be in circulation, making the card more scarce as they will only be printed for a limited time. The requirement for levelling cards for each rarity are as follows:
Rarity | Max Level | Regular Foil | Max CP | Gold Foil | Max CP |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Common | 10 | 400 BCX | 2,100 | 38 BCX | 4,988 |
Rare | 8 | 115 BCX | 2,415 | 22 BCX | 11,550 |
Epic | 6 | 46 BCX | 4,830 | 10 BCX | 26,250 |
Legendary | 4 | 11 BCX | 5,755 | 4 BCX | 52,500 |
Another benefit about leveling cards to max level is that it will have an additional 5% increase on collection power.
Meanwhile, when leveling cards, it is also important to take the level of your summoner into consideration because even if you have a card at max level, you will only be able to play it according to the level of your summoner and the level by which each units can be played also varies defending on the rarity of the summoner.
Common Summoner
Rare Summoner
Epic Summoner
Legendary Summoner
With a level 1 common and rare summoner, you can only play units at level 1 while for a level 1 epic summoner, you can play a level 2 common unit but for other rarities you can only play them at level 1, On the other hand, using a legendary summoner at level 1 will allow you to play a level 3 common, level 2 rare and level 3 epic card with legendary as the only card that is played at level 1.
How To Combine Cards
In order to combine cards we need to go first to the Card Collection Page and to find them, on the battle page, click on the Items menu and on the dropdown list, click on the cards.
On the Card Collection Page, choose which card that you wish to combine. To make it easier to find the card, you can also try to use the card filters.
Upon choosing which card that you want to combine, you can manually check the number of copies that you need to level the cards or you can just click on the All button to have all the cards selected.
Then by clicking the Combine (green +) button, it will give you a review of the final output of the combined card and by clicking on Combine, you confirm that you want to combine the cards.
After that, you will return on the card page and will see that the rest of the cards that were used to combine were now gone and the only remaining card is the card with the level. As expected, the card was 20 BCX short to level 9 so its general stats does not change but the collection power was added into the card. Before, Tokatag Conscript only has 1,100 CP but upon combining all the cards, it's total CP now becomes 1,400.
Closing
And there you have it with the leveling system. By combining your cards, you will be able to build a more competitive deck that will help you to climb within the league that you were playing.
Thank you and see you on the next post!
