Introduction

Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

This will be my entry for this week's Battle Mage Secrets where I showcased a battle with the featured ruleset Stampede. This is a ruleset where Trample ability will retrigger infinitely as long as the trampling unit keeps killing other units.

The Battle that I will show to you this week was from @bltzr-wizard-726 which is the scholar account I'm playing from Balthazar Guild in partnership with Side Door Ventures and was currently playing on Diamonds League of the Modern format.

But before I reveal my battle, let us learn more about this ruleset.

The trample.png Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed.

With Trample, when a Monster hits and kills its target, it will perform another attack on the next Monster on the enemy Team which can be triggered multiple times with Stampede for as long as the target continues to be defeated.

My Team

Summoner1st2nd3nd4th5th6th

This battle comes with a 50 mana cap where the active rulesets are Blood and Sunder, Fog of War and the featured ruleset for this week which was Stampede. With this in consideration, my lineup was consist of:

Summoner: Quix the Devious - A Dragon Summoner which reduces the range and speed of all opponent units by -1.

  • 1st Position: Djinn Oshannus - An 8- mana magic unit with Void that reduces magic damage as well as Phase that allows it to evade magic attacks. It also has Forcefield which turn damage from 5 or more attacks into 1.

  • 2nd Position: Carnage Titan - A 11- mana melee unit with Reach which allows it to attack the opponent on the second position that makes it twice with Double Strike and has Shield which reduces the damage it receive from melee and range attack.

  • 3th Position: Anasht Soothsayer - A 6-mana magic unit that has Cleanse to remove the negative stats of the tank unit and can use Tank Heal.

  • 4th Position: Merdaali Guardian- A 3- mana non-damage unit that can use Tank Heal and Repair to restore the health and armor of an ally. It also has Strengthen which increases the stats of all ally units by +1.

  • 5th Position: Merdhampir A 4- mana range unit with Cripple that reduces the max health of the target for each successful attack while increasing its max health with Life Leach. It also has Ensnare which removes the Flying ability of the target.

  • 6th Position: Chaos Dragon- A 14- mana magic unit with Flying that increases its evasion chance by 25% along with Blind with another 15% chance that the opponent will miss their attack. It also has Scattershot that randomizes the target of its attack each turn and Blast that damage the adjacent units to the target.

1-10/36- Pre- battle Phase: Application of ability buffs and de- buffs by both teams.

Round 1:

As the first round ends, no monsters on both team has died yet but Arkemis the Bear was left with only 1 life left as it receives damage from Djinn Oshannus, Carnage Titana and the Blast damage from Chaos Dragon which also damages Coastal Sentry and Drybone Raider while Merdhampir removes the armor of Wave Brood and reduces its health by -1 with Cripple but it receives damage because of Return Fire. On the other hand, the Health of Djinn Oshannus by only -4 despite the huge damage of my opponent as it was reduced by 1 by its Forcefield.

Round 2:

During this round, Djinn Oshannus defeats Arkemis the Bear while Coastal Sentry has left with 1 health as it was attacked by Carnage Titan. Igor Drakspear and Torrent Fiend also receives some damage when Chaos Dragon attacked while Wave Brood was left with 12 health after it was attacked by Merdhampir. On my team though, Djinn Oshannus was left with only 5 health with the barrage of attack by the opponent team.

Round 3:

On round 3, my team has defeated both Coastal Sentry and Torren Fiend and although Djinn Oshannus has received heal from both Merdaali Guardian and Anasht Soothsayer, it only has 3 health remaining. On the other hand, Drybone Raider and Igor Darkspear was barely have any life left while Wave Brood was down to 10 health.

Round 4:

Battle Recap

Here is a replay of the battle which at you can watch at Splinterlands.

Did My Strategy Work?

As the staple for the Stampede ruleset was to use Possibilus the Wise with how it can give the Trample ability to all ally units, I expected that the opponent will use monsters with heavy damage to get the most out of the ruleset so instead of copying it, I rather made a counter on it by using a unit with Forcefield to turn its damage to 1. Because of that, the opponent was not able to capitalize on the Stampede as it was never able to trample on me as I slowly drain its their health until they were defeated.

That was it for this post. Thank you and see you at the next one.
