Trying Out the Upcoming Rebellion Promo Cards

Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

In the next 3 days, the very first Auction card will took place in the game and in just 3 weeks from now the next phase of Hall of Legends cards will be available for purchase. This is in part of the previously passed proposal for the @sps.dao to Splinterlands to develop promo cards, paying 600m DEC to the company but even before they will be available in the game, they will be available on Ghost Card Tournaments and Challenges so with that, I was able to try to play this card and with this post, I will show some of the battles I had using this new promo cards.

The first card that we have was Rune Anarchist which is a magic splinter with both Earth and Water Attribute with 7 mana cost. At max Level, it has a maximum damage of 2 with 3 speed, 8 health and 2 armor. When it comes to its abilities, it has Weaken at level 1 that reduces the health of all opponent units as long as this card was in play while at level 4, it gains Phase Ward that allows it to give the Phase ability on the ally monster that is in front of it. As it reach level 6, it gains Cripple that reduces the max health of the target and at max level, it gains Scavenger that will increase its health for every monster that was defeated.

As it was a magic unit, it works well on Keep Your Distance and Going the Distance ruleset as it can attack even when at the first position while its ability to increase health while reducing the health of the opponent may be a valuable ability for the Noxious Fume ruleset.

As for the summoner, Rune Anarchist will benefit greatly when used together with Obsidian where it can receive +1 magic damage or use it together with Immortalis to not only have Void but also to support the tank unit by giving it the Phase to further reduce the damage it can receive. It also synergizes with Cryptic given that it's Blind will further increase the chance that the opponent will miss their magic attack towards the monster that is next to Rune Anarchist.

By using Rune Anarchist to give Phase to Commander Slade, not only it can now evade both melee and range attacks but also the magic attacks that was thrown by the opponent and at the same time, inflict damage to the opponent for every time they miss with Backfire.

Riklauniman is an 11 mana card with both melee and range attack which also possesses both Earth and Life attribute. At max level it has a total of 2 melee and 4 range damage while also having 4 speed, 7 health and 2 armor. when it comes to abilities, it has Charge at level 1 which allows it to attack the first position unit regardless of its position as well as a new ability called Kindred Will which gives units with the Kindred Spirit an ambush ability and the only card which have this card was Pallus and this is due to the relationship of Riklauniman and Pallus from the lore and I kind of was able to figure it out 3 days before the announcement for the stats of the new promo cards was announced. At Level 2, it gains expose which has 80% chance to remove Immunity, Forcefield, Void, Reflection Shield, Lookout, Shield and Void Armor. Finally, at level 4, it gains Stun which prevents the target to attack for a turn.



When it comes top rulesets, it will both work on Keep Your Distance and Up Close and Personal due to it having 2 attack types while it would also be a great card to use on Close Range for it can also use its range damage even at the first position.

Being it both a melee unit, it gains attack and armor by using it together with Elias Max Pruitt and might as well give it the Armored Strike ability, adding another attack to this card and it can also work really great by using it with Akane and giving it the Ambush ability while as a range unit, using Gallicus with General Sloan would boost its range attack by +1 or use it together with Quix the Devious to stack up the minus range by -2 or just go with Ilthain with Return Fire and an additional speed to all ally units.

On this battle, Riklauniman was able to gain True Strike while Pallus gets Ambush by being next to one another due to the effects of Kindred Will and kindred Spirit though they did not won the match since they were against Heloise the Hollow.

Heloise the Hollow is a 9 mana melee card with both Death and Earth attribute. At max level it has a total of 8 melee damage while also having 3 speed and 7 health. When it comes to abilities, it has both the Taunt and Opportunity ability at level 1 which force opponent units to attack this card while also attacks the unit with the least health. Once it reaches level 3, it gains the Spite ability which allows it to 100% retaliate against any monster that defeat this card while at max level, it gains Soul Siphon which allows it to revive as long as there is a non- Weary unit remaining on your team and each time that it revives, it gives Weary on a random ally unit.

When it comes top rulesets, it will both work on Up Close and Personal where only melee units can be used as well as on Unprotected so it can inflict most of its damage to the target's health.

Monsters do not have any armor and do not get armor from Abilities or Summoner Buffs.


Being it a melee unit, it gains attack and armor by using it together with Lorkus and Undeboss Fabino but with Risqruel Drath, it can have the True Strike ability which will make its attack to never miss its target. or use it with Akane to give it Ambush. It may also do well with Nidhoggr by either giving it Blast to spread the damage it inflicts or with Execute for it to attack ounce again if the target has 2 or less health remaining.

For this final battle, I use Heloise the Hollow and as you can see in the battle, the other 3 units that I have gets the Weary debilitations as Heloise the Hollow was defeated 4x and was just resurrected due to its Soul Siphon and each time that it got defeated, it retaliates towards the attacker regardless of its attack type and this is due to its Spite ability.

Final Thoughts

This upcoming batch of Rebellion promo cards were all very good cards to use specially, Heloise the Hollow but at the same time, its overall price could be very hard for me to avail given that there will only be 100 cards to be printed with only 4 cards to be as gold foil so I was sure that many whales will compete to have this card. On the other hand, the other 2 promo cards, are more within my price range and are cards that I will probably need specially for Riklauniman and I would at least wan to have 1 bcx of this card to have it together with my Pallus.
