We have three rulesets in effect: Heavy Hitters, Equal Opportunity and Unprotected
RULESET: Heavy Hitters
Description:
All units gain the Knock Out ability.
Be sure to include a unit with Stun in your lineup to trigger the knock out.
The Strategy
Normally I would include at least one unit with a stun in my lineup for heavy hitters, however I had two more rulesets to consider: Unprotected and Equal opportunity.
Due to these rulesets I chose to go for speed and resiliency with my lineup. I also included a few traps for my opponent to keep killing my low value units and a martyr to increase the speed and attack of my main damage dealers: Pelacor Deceiver and Shadow Snitch.
The bet is on the resiliency of Cursed Windeku as my main tank and on the speed and damage of Pelacor Deceiver and Shadow Snitch.
The Summoner
Astral Entity is a great legendary summoner from the Chaos Legion Core set. It removes two armor which is irrelevant in unprotected ruleset, but it also gives evasiveness and resurrects one monsters both of which are important in the speed game of opportunity.
1st Slot - Tank Monster
I went with a Cursed Windeku as my main tank for his resilience due to high base health of elven and self heal. It also has four melee damage decent base speed of three and important thorns and slow abilities.
2nd Slot - Reach Affliction Monster
Shadow Snitch is a great monster for only four mana it comes with reach and affliction abilities, both of which are important. It also has a base speed of four and three melee damage with a base health of seven.
3rd Slot - Martyr Monster
Venari Marksrat is an important soulbound reward monster that has a martyr ability that helps boost the stats of the adjacent monster when the rat dies.
4th Slot - Fast Backfire Damage Dealer Monster
Pelacor Deceiver is a common old-school reward monster that is perfect for the opportunity ruleset because of his high base speed of five that makes it more likely that our opponents will miss on him and will receive the backfire damage.
5th Slot - Opportunity Bait Monster
Corpse fiend is a legendary monster from the Chaos Legion set. It's main purpose here is to serve as the bait for the fast opportunity monsters.
6th Slot - Flying Melee Monster
For only one mana this is a great monster to use in the opportunity ruleset.
THE BATTLE
Because there are three rulesets in effect neither of us included a unit with Stun. My opponent chose to go with the green team.
Round one was an exchange of blows with three kills for my opponent and two kills for us, it isn't clear who the winner will be just yet...
With the first strike in round two the opponent took out my martyr monster, that bodes well for us. We took out their tank and have the numbers on our side now!
Round three was pretty bad for us with two misses against their flying monster, let's hope for a turnaround in round four:
Round four was pretty good, two decisive strikes and it is all over!
Nice win with over seven SPS tokes as our reward at the Gold league level:
