I remember the days when we thought that there were over 500 thousand players in Splinterlands. With various anti-bot measures that were implemented this number came down quite a bit. If we go back the last six months we still see the spikes of over 100 thousand active players:
After the wild pass was implemented we saw a huge drop off in the number of active players and battles per day:
If we take a look at the last month we see that most of the battles were fought in Wild:
Here we see an average of 277k battles total per day with a peak value of 522k daily battles of 522,752 battles that day only 15,476 battles were fought in the modern league!
If we take a look at the last seven days we see how the current Splinterlands picture looks like:
From this we can draw the conclusion that Wild Pass was Wildly successful in reducing the number of battles in the Wild League. We now have an average of 67k battles per day with about 39k battles in Wild and about 18k battles in Modern.
If we take a look at just the modern battles for the last month we see that the Wild Pass has pushed some players back into modern:
Wild battles have fallen off the cliff and do not look like they will be coming back any time soon:
If we take a look at the active players after the Wild pass was implemented we see the following in the last seven days:
With the exception of June 19th we had between 7.4k and 10.7k active daily players. This is not confirmed by the number of games played. For example for June 24th we had 7431 active players and 73514 games played. If we take 7431 players and multiply by 25 games per day we get: 185,775 games that should have been played. So either not all of the active players are using all of their energy per day or not all of the active players are playing. If all of the players utilized their full daily energy the number of players to play 73,514 games would have been only 2,940.
Now let's take a look at a player sitting at the very bottom of the Gold 2 Modern League:
This player is at 658 place in the modern League:
If we had 21,125 battles in modern that would give us: 21125/25=845 players in modern.
