Introduction

Today was a busy but fruitful day for me. It was also the end of season for Splinterlands. I think I will pause on my alts for this season to take a rest but let's see how it goes. Anyways today I will be writing some tips for noxious fumes. It basically gives poison to all units at the beginning of the battle.

My Strategy & Tips for Noxious Fumes

In noxious fumes, you want to look at playing units with high health because playing any low health units would just auto die by poison which is ok if they are a martyr unit. Personally, I would look into playing units with the immunity ability since they can't be poisoned unless they lose immunity from expose. Something interesting to note is that the poison will trigger enrage at the end of the round so playing units with enrage could be a decent strategy.

For this ruleset, there are five different strategies I like to play. For fire, I like to use the forgotten one with double martyr around it. For earth, I will use the soulbound summoner to play Quora with double martyr. For water, I will play Possibilus and just go for the fast win and the extra health can survive the poison. For life, I like to use the soulbound epic and adelade with Uriel infront and soem martyr. For death, there's harklaw and revealer which can be used with martyr or an alternative would be cursed windeku can be great with martyr if it's super low mana.

The Battle

The battle link can be found here. Alright I had this battle yesterday and it was in Diamond modern. The rulesets were up close and personal, heavy hitter and noxious fumes. There was a 52 mana cap with only the fire element banned.

Discussing My Lineup

Summoner , Possibilus - As mentioned in my strategy section, I like to use Possibilus as one of my strategies for the quick damage and because this was up close and personal it also made possibilus a good choice with the trample.

First Position, Arkemis the Bear - Arkemis the Bear is undoubtedly the best tank at the moment in mid-high mana. There's no reason why it shouldn't be played.

Second Position, Coastal Sentry - I chose Costal Sentry as my second unit. It's main purpose was to hit hard with the double strike and trample.

Third Position, Legionnaire Alvar - This card was actually a blunder. I meant to choose Kulu Mastemrind but I think misclicked.

Fourth Position, Deeplurker - Deeplurker was one of my core DPS and it was solid with the demoralize since only melee units would be played in this battle.

Fifth Position, Runi - I normally wouldn't use Runi but it's crucial in a noxious fumes ruleset. The resurrect can basically help itself clear the poison after it dies.

Last Position, Pelacor Bandit - Pelacor Bandit was to fill the manacap and protect from sneak.

Analysis of The Battle

My opponent was a fellow scholar and they had a really weird lineup. They chose a lot of thorns and self healing with Lily Shieldpaw to sustain but I think that was a mistake. His units weren't able to attack as much and my mistakenly placed Legionnaire Alvar actually helped a lot with the extra demoralize. My runi was also able to attack for free since they didn't have any opportunity and on top of that the runi can't get affected by thorns. My opponent didn't really have a chance of winning but I still think I would've preferred to have Kulu Mastermind over Legionnaire Alvar so if I had to change something that would be it.
