Hello everyone, in this post I will talk about a Splinterlands card that is usually "easy" to defeat especially in leagues like bronze where you can only use low level cards, but it is incredibly powerful when it comes to dealing damage and can get even better if you use the right summoner for her.
This card is Pelacor Arbalest and you must have played with it at some point or seen it in one of its battles, but what is so special about this card to be powerful?.
Its main function as I mentioned before is to deal damage, especially in low leagues and what really makes it useful for battles is the fact that it has an amazing ability called Double Strike that allows the card to attack 2x in the round and this is very powerful because it's like you have an extra card in battle.
But Pelacor also has its weaknesses as it can't be perfect in everything. His first weakness is that his health is extremely low, especially at low levels, for example at level 1 he has only 2 health and that means that the chance of him being defeated easily is high, the second weakness is his speed is also low which is bad news as it means he will take a while to attack and it also means that the chances of him being defeated before dealing damage are even higher, lastly his mana cost is a bit high so he is the type of card you won't be able to use in battles with low available mana easily.
In the image above you can better see all the statistics of the Pelacor Arbalest card, including its levels and abilities. To access this part just click on the card and go to the Stats part, I will leave the main information about it below.
Don't be scared by the weaknesses that this card has because it is very powerful for battles so even with these risks it still pays to have it in battles and for that there are ways to reduce these weaknesses and make it even stronger.
To make him stronger I recommend using the summoner General Sloan from the life deck because he increases the attack of ranged cards by +1 and as the Pelacor Arbalest attacks 2x in the round this means that he will do +2 damage with this summoner o which is a lot and will make a lot of difference in battles.
To reduce his weaknesses I can give you 2 tips, the first is not to position him in the last position because then he will not be the target of cards with the Sneak ability that makes the cards attack the card positioned in the last position and the last thing you will want is to see your Pelacor Arbalest taking damage right at the start of the battle. The second tip is to use a card with the Protect ability as the Truthspeaker of the life deck, this ability will make all your cards gain +2 shield and this will be very useful as a defense for Pelacor Arbalest against melee and ranged cards.
With these tips you can play more smoothly with Pelacor Arbalest but it will also depend on the strategy your opponent uses so keep that in mind.
Before I forget he also has the Flying ability at higher levels and this ability will also be very useful for him because it increases his chances of dodging attacks from other abilities that don't have the Flying ability and for a vulnerable card like him, this one enable will be very important but only from level 5 you have it.
For those who have played with this card, you know how amazing it is in battles and it is one of my top picks in high mana battles with the life deck. But to have it at higher levels you need to buy or rent it so let's find out how much this amazing card is currently costing.
Value
Its current price at the time this post is being published is $0.62 and I consider it a low price for an amazing card like it, but this is due to the fact that the chaos legion packs are still being sold in the splinterlands shop and that greatly limits the value of cards currently, so when the packs run out cards like the Pelacor Arbalest and many others from this edition that are incredible in battle will have their prices much higher than these.
In the weekly chart that Peakmonster makes available, it shows 1186 cards were sold this week alone and that is a lot of cards and also shows a slight upward trend but this is common because the chaos legion edition cards have very volatile prices so the ideal thinking short term is to plot an average price of this card and buy it when it's below it because it will probably go up in value again just like it happened countless times in the last few weeks. For the long term the current price is not very relevant because if you believe in the potential of this card for when the packs are finished being sold then its price will probably be higher than what you are paying now, but it's always good to buy when it's cheap to maximize your earnings.
Remembering that every investment has its risks and this is not an investment tip, just my opinion about the card and its financial potential for the future.

LORE
Pelacor Arbalests are armed with powerful crossbows enchanted to fire bolts at extremely long distances. They are trained to wield a crossbow in each hand and can fire both simultaneously with deadly accuracy. Compounded with the Pelacor's excellent eyesight and nimble dexterity, these sharpshooters are extremely useful as snipers on the battlefield.
The Silver Shield Knight backpedaled, parrying blow after blow as the two Venari snarled and swung their swords at him in a savage and ruthless onslaught. He stumbled. Another blow sent him reeling. He fell onto his back.
The Venari leaped upon him, swords raised. He struggled to lift his own sword, but he couldn't fight them both. He was going to die.
The feathered shaft of a bolt slammed into center of each Venaris' chest simultaneously. The pair crumpled in a heap, unseeing eyes staring at the sky.
The Silver Shield Knight squinted into the sun. Above him, a Pelacor Arbalest hovered, his large white wings beating at the air. In each hand, he held an empty crossbow, still aimed at the fallen Venari.Strikethrough
