Hello everyone, in this post I will talk about a very useful card in battles that although I haven't been able to play with it at its maximum potential, it is incredibly powerful because it has 2 excellent abilities that make all the difference in a battle in Splinterlands. This card is called Time Mage and before I talk more about its abilities let's get to know its other uses.
Many may already know this card because you can play with it without having to rent or buy it in Splinterlands but only at level 1, it belongs to the life deck and is a rare card from the chaos legion edition, I will leave the main information about it below.
Time Mage at level 1 as you can see is not a very good card when you look at its stats because it only has 1 attack and 3 health which is a low amount, but its speed is excellent for a card of this level and it has the Slow ability that I'll mention in a moment.
At higher levels it draws much more attention because its attack is much higher, especially for a card that spends only 4 mana, its speed is still excellent and it has another ability that is Rust that also makes all the difference in battles.
Now let's see why these 2 abilities are so useful
The first one, Slow, is an ability that makes the Time Mage reduce the speed of enemy cards by 1. As in battles, speed makes all the difference and many times more than the attack itself, so having the speed of the enemy's cards your reduced opponent is a great strategy and it will give you a huge advantage, especially if you have cards with high speeds like Time Mage, so I consider it an excellent ability to have in battles.
The second Rust is also another ability that makes all the difference in battle because it reduces the shield of the opponent's cards by 2. The shield is useful against melee and ranged cards as these cards will attack the shield first and not the card health so your opponent having shield cards gives you a huge disadvantage as it is very common to use melee and ranged cards, so reducing 2 shield with the Rust ability will be very useful because it will put his cards at a disadvantage and it is It's very common to have summoners that grant shield or cards with the Protect ability that grants 2 shield to cards, so having the Rust ability is an excellent choice to leave your opponent's cards defenseless and increase your chances of victory.
For those who have played with this card, you know how great it is in battles and I must admit that it is one of my favorites in the life deck. But to have it at higher levels you need to buy or rent it so let's find out how much this amazing card is currently costing.
Value
Its current price at the time this post is being published is $0.44 and I consider it a low price for a card with an incredible utility and visuals but this is due to the fact that the chaos legion packs are still being sold in the splinterlands shop and this greatly limits the value of cards these days, so when the packs run out, cards like Time Mage and many of the chaos legion edition that are awesome in battle will have their prices much higher than these, but that's just my point view because every investment has its risks so keep that in mind.
The weekly chart that Peakmonster provides shows 1721 cards that were sold this week alone and that is a lot of cards and also shows a slight upward trend because of the new rewards format that is coming, so predicting its value in the current scenario is difficult because it can stay at that value, fall or rise further. For the long term the current price is not very relevant because if you believe in the potential of this card for when the packs are finished being sold then its price will probably be higher than what you are paying now, but it's always good to buy when it's cheap to maximize your earnings.
The monthly chart shows a total of 7515 cards sold in the last 30 days and as you can see the price of the card is quite volatile so I say that there are always great opportunities to buy cards, just be patient and choose great cards like Time Mage that have incredible potential, so cards like them will always have a good reason to go up in price.
Remembering again that this is not an investment tip, just my opinion on the card and its financial potential. Every investment has risks and this one is no exception so keep that in mind and invest wisely.

LORE
Time Mages are members of the Order of the Silver Shield and close associates of the Wizards' Council. They are trusted to peer through the fabric of time and reality to foretell the future or manipulate the present by slowing the flow of time. They can also speed up the aging process of armor, causing it to rust prematurely.
However, with such power also comes great risk. The future is ever-changing, and the ripples of time can affect everyone. Time Mages must undergo strict training to ensure they don't abuse their power and use it only for the most dire of circumstances.
