In this post I will present the Chaos Knight card which is an excellent defensive card for your battles with the life deck in Splinterlands. He has a bit high mana cost but having him defending in your battles will be a great choice and will give your opponents a lot of work.
Before getting to know what the Chaos Knight is like in battle, take a look at its general characteristics.
Because it's a common card it has 8 levels and every level it gets stronger, but currently I'm only using it at level 1 because I'm still in the bronze league, but I hope to use it at higher levels later on because it's a great card, especially when it has all 3 abilities.
At the initial level he is quite useful despite having only 4 health which is little for a defensive card that will be used in the first position, but he has a good amount of shield to defend against melee and ranged attacks, and also enable it Shield which I will explain later.
Its biggest weakness is against magic attacks because this type of attack ignores the shield and directly attacks the health of the cards and as the Chaos Knight doesn't have much health he would probably be defeated easily.
I will now explain its abilities which as I mentioned before are 3: Shield, Giant Killer and Inspire.
The first one that is Shield will be excellent against melee and ranged cards because this ability causes the damage taken by these cards to be reduced by half, so if you have a melee and ranged card that has 2 attack it will only do 1 damage in Chaos Knight, but if the card has 3 attack then the damage will be 2 because the value is rounded up.
The second one, the Giant Killer, is a recent ability that is not often used in Splinterlands because it makes the card that has it do double damage against cards that have 10 or more mana cost, as there are few such cards. and they are not used often so this ability won't be useful in most battles, but when you have a card of this type in battle then Chaos Knight will do a lot of damage.
The third one that is Inspire will be a great ability for Chaos Knight and his other melee cards because it increases the attack of these cards by +1 while Chaos Knight is in battle and doing more damage is always a good thing.
This is a general explanation of how the Chaos Knight card works but for the battle that I will show for this challenge I only used it at level 1 as I mentioned before so it only has the Shield ability that reduces the damage taken by melee and ranged cards.
Besides Chaos Knight I also used other cards that I considered a good combination for him and that did very well in battle.
BATTLE
This battle took place in the bronze league and the deck used by me was the Dragon deck with the summoner Daria Dragonscale, the deck used by my opponent was the death deck with the summoner Thaddius Brood.
In the battle the summoner chosen by my opponent was Thaddius Brood who reduces the magic attack and the life of my cards by 1, the magic reduction will not affect my cards because I don't have any cards of this type so they will only have their health reduced by 1.
My opponent also doesn't have cards with magic attack which is excellent since I have a lot of shield and Chaos Knight is defending in the first position.
There is no set rule in this battle.
Round 1:
In the first round the shield was very useful because all my opponent's attacks were blocked by him, my Chaos Knight missed the attack but his Shield ability has another important function which is to reduce the damage caused by my opponent's Thorns ability so instead of takes 2 damage he will only take 1 of this ability.
2 of my opponent's cards were defeated and none of mine.
Round 2:
In the second round, my card Uraeus that was without a shield ended up being defeated, the Chaos Knight's utility against the Thorns ability was very useful and he only received 1 damage. Most of my cards still have a shield so they are well protected but the Truthspeaker card that grants this shield is missing so if it is defeated it will be a big loss for my cards.
2 of my opponent's cards were defeated and 1 of mine.
Round 3:
In the third round the Truthspeaker card was defeated and that caused my cards to lose the shield that protected them, but that didn't become a big problem because now there's only one card left from my opponent in the battle.
1 card from my opponent was defeated and 1 from me.
Round 4:
In the fourth round Celestial Harpy was able to damage Cursed Windeku but she was defeated by the Thorns ability effect, after which Chaos Knight delivered the last blow and we have the result of the battle.
This was a battle where Chaos Knight was very useful because my opponent has a lot of melee cards in battle and as he has the shield ability and a large amount of shield (with the addition of Truthspeaker's Protect ability) he was an excellent choice to defend in first position, mainly against Cursed Windeku that has the Thorns ability which is usually a big problem for melee cards but not for Chaos Knight.
After some battles with this incredible card I managed to complete the daily quest and the result was:
Lucky for me, a rare card that I love and that will be a great combination for Chaos Knight in future battles.
