MEDUSA
Pleasant day @splinterlands community! How's your day? I wish everyone is enjoying with this opportunity. Today I'll gonna instruct you how to draw a beautiful water character (Medusa) which is one of the alpha cards. This water card is one of the good cards because of its ability (stun) that starts with its level (3) But what makes it more valuable? Its magic attack and low mana cost: Isn't it amazing? Now let's start the tutorial!
The Card Used as Inspiration and its Lore
Card
Lore
Every water-breather in ΛZMΛRÉ knows that Gorgons live in their waters. A simple trip to the ocean floor reveals the statues of the unfortunate Merfolk who crossed the path of a Gorgon. Medusa is the only Gorgon to reveal herself to others without turning them to stone. At least they have a choice.
The Process
All Steps in 6 Phases
Phase 1
The first step starts on the creation of sketch. It should give a clear concept of the drawing and will eventually serve as the basic foundation of the artwork. Thin and thick lines are utilized.
Phase 2
The second step is applying the color of the character's skin including the head and also the shadow that is expected and to be more realistic and having in depth result.
Phase 3
Next step is focus on the garments as well as to the application of the base color of the head's asset. In short the characters head that makes creativity and life. I just give some experimentation on the said garments to appeal more interesting.
Phase 4
The next step is finalizing the entire drawing by completing the application of colors. I have make sure that it will give a scaly snake effect. I just use a color with differed lower opacity to have that kind of effect. It goes out perfect and intricate.
Phase 5
The next step is of course creating the best background. Though sometimes we mistakenly understand that medusa is an earth element. We should still believe that it came from the water element. Alongside on the background I just use the fading style and the erasing technique to be somewhat creative and magical.
Phase 6
The final step is the integration of the two canvas. The main canvas where the character has been drawn and the second one that emphasizes the background. After all, the integrated canvases becomes one and gives a unique artwork.
